Ok. So I'm a little bit excited by this...

Jim Beaver saw and COMMENTED on my Bobby Vid. A gal over on YT sent it to his face book and he commented by saying:

Okay, that may be the best fan vid I've ever seen. The editing and confluence of image and lyric is just amazing. You should be doing this for a living. Thank you. I'm really, really flattered.

And don't worry... I take "best fan vid I've even seen" with a grain of salt. Whenever someone says that my first thought it "Well you haven't seen many fan vids then"..*g*. However...The editing and confluence of image and lyric is just amazing. I will take because... damn! That's a nice thing to say. :)

You know, in general I don't approve of showing fan stuff to the 'talent'. We've all heard stories of actors being shown inappropriate material. But every once in a while I see something and think the actor featured would be flattered and I had that thought when I watched your vid.

I'm glad he got to see it and had such a warm response. You totally deserve it.

Ikr?!? Most of the time I'm like oh god no but I thought this would be actor-approvable when I saw it, too.

And yes... I was totally shocked to hear he had actually watched - let alone responded. Though I think Jim is genuinely warm about fans and fan stuff. He came across that way when I saw him at a convention here is Aus. It's lovely that he took the time.

I knew he'd love it if he saw it!!!!! (You may remember I said as much) but I never thought he'd actually see it!!!!!! Whooooooooooooo!!!!!!!

Normally you know I'm not a fan of mixing Us and Them, but It's such a wonderfully clear (and sweet) vid that I think anyone with a knowledge of the character would be likely to get it.

Of course I'm like "that's my vid! Wooooooo!!!" even though of

YES, yes... I do remember you saying that. And me too. I didn't actually think he'd see it. Or, if he did actually take the time to say anything about it.

And the mixing of Us and Them completely freaks me out too ... it's why the "fan" episodes made me all sorts of twitchy.

But I'm glad he took it as intended - as a homage to the character rather than anything else.

And of course it's your vid!! Wouldn't have been made without you hun... :D :D

I think as vidders we gotta take what we can get. I have no idea why this makes me all kinds of happy. I suppose mostly that an actor from the show has taken the time to watch and comment. And to give a well considered comment at that.

That's amazing, bb - and a bit scary - but I'm happy JB saw that video.

Hee.. oh yes. A bit scary indeed - just the idea that the actors do actually see what we are up to. I mean... we know of course because the show put us under the spot light in a couple of episodes *shivers*.

But I suppose I am also chuffed that he would be kind enough to acknowledge stuff we do too. He seems like a pretty down to earth guy. (at least I didn't slash him with anyone... ack!)

Oh WOW!!!

Honey, that's amazing, not only did he see it, but said some really lovely and complimentary things too, which he didn't have to, so I say you really struck a chord with him.

I feel a bit dumb here as I haven't got around to watching it yet, still waiting for my sister to bring my DVD player back that plays divx so I can watch it on the bit TV!

Honestly though I'm so delighted for you, I'm with him, your talent and skill is so deserving of the praise, always had an inkling I'd like that Beaver fella and he's gone right up the scale in my estimation this morning!

Yeah... he certainly comes across as a gentlemen. He doesn't seem to have any pretences and in that industry I figure that would be pretty hard to avoid sometimes.

Oh man... I wish it was on the burner. But nah. We are all going to Kuala Lumpa this year so that's where that money will be going. I just can't justify spending $3,000 on myself. But! Maybe one year. If it was in LA it would be a lot cheaper to get there.

Indeed it is! And although the "I've seen" is a good caveat, I definitely have the same reaction to "best fan vid ever" because there's so many good ones out there I don't know how anyone could choose just one. Yours would certainly be in the running though :)

And yes. I kinda wonder how many fanvids Jim has actually seen anyway. I can't imagine him sitting there surfing for them. Though I know they show fanvids at conventions so I suspect he (and the other actors) would see those.

And I can never say "best vid ever" to any vid, even if I think it's brilliant because (as you say) there are just too many brilliant ones out there.
