They say the older you get the faster time seems to go by. Certainly true in my case. I can't believe it's another new year. 2011 was pretty good to me. I'm looking forward to 2012.

My sister's baby is due in 3 weeks. She's having a boy, but hasn't been able to decide on a name. She has three favourites (which she is keeping a secret) but I mentioned Jensen as a name and it has HIT THE LEAD! \o/ Hee! Can you imagine. A member of my family being called Jensen. That was make me smile. I also mentioned Sam and that's being considered as well. :D *fingers crossed* for a SPN baby name.

Aaaanyway. HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all. It's been a fun fandom year for me. Particularly being able to met some real life fangirls. LJ is my happy place. The place I come to escape real life stresses. So THANK YOU for making it such a happy place. (I hope it continues to be that way - with all the LJ changes and all).

As much as I love the name Jensen, and I really, really do, as someone with an unusual name who got teased as a kid, I always consider the potential for teasing. You know the kid'll get called Jenny.

Gosh, people here lit so many fireworks, it was banging and flashing for hours until about 5 or 6 in the morning. Trying to sleep turned out to be quite a challenge. :P

We had a few going off close to us, which in Aus is illegal. Not sure where they even got them from But it was fun to watch. :D

Oh, it's illegal in Aus? I guess because of the dry heat?
Over here, especially in Berlin where I live people go nuts. You get all sorts of fireworks people lite from the streets, the windows or their balconies. Many are very beautiful. A lot of them are just noisy though.
There are illegal ones that are hand granades rather than fireworks (def not safe), my son was stunned for a few seconds after one of his friends threw one of those. Luckily no real harm was done.
I personally just hide at home. :P

Yes. It's been illegal for many, many years. Probably because of the fire danger (it's the height of summer on new years day) and the danger to people generally.

I lived in Amsterdam for a couple of years and the thing I remember most is the massive amount of fireworks going off on new years eve. It fascinated and frightened me at the same time.
