Vid comment:

Made for the SVS Mood Swings Challenge. The challenge was to take a piece of music and turn it on its head.

I was struck with the idea to take a light piece of music and juxtapose it with the ghosts, ghouls and gore of SPN. I gave myself the challenge of trying to make a kind of macabre dance. Working with the beat, not only in the editing but also within the clips themselves.

It's short, so if you have a chance take a look. I'd be keen to know what your think.

Yay!! I was so going for the EWWWW effect. I really wanted to use the clip where the guy gets ripped up by the bench saw and that woman's teeth all fall out but I just couldn't get them to work with the music. :(

I for one am glad you didn't use the clip w/ all the woman's teeth falling out. Having fake!Dean's teeth fall out in that bit from Skin was bad enough. *shudder*

After making this and trolling through hours of footage I reckon our show has a thing for teeth and mouths - the amount of clips with mouths and throats! Hee! I also tried to use the razor blade in the throat scene - for me that is one of the grossest things in SPN so far. I actually couldn't bring myself to clip it. Then there's always the maggots in the hamburger .........

wow, that was one heck of a successful experiment! I loved the flow of the vid, the connections you made between shots, how smoothly it transitioned from say ripping arm-shedding skin-bloody mouth etc. Gory and eerie and fantastically done. Not to mention brilliant timing. Blood, violence and gore have never danced so elegantly!

Oh this was a brilliant experiment and a wizard concept.

And yeah, you really pulled off the impression of the goulies and ghosties dancing - it timed out really well. Gorgeous opening - one of my favourite scenes and yet very hard to use in most vids.

Loved the colouring effects and the clip choices and how when they're all in together it gets even yuckier!
