I've been wondering how my horror show about brothers who would die for each other became a soap opera about brothers who would leave each other for dead.

The weird thing is I've seen male fans going "yay, we have a male showrunner again" and I'm thinking "do you realize your male showrunner is turning the show into Days of Our Lives?" Or maybe more appropriately Port Charles, a daytime soap opera with vampires and angels. (At least the vampire in Port Charles acted evil, not just loving.)

I can't stand relationship drama, personally. That's why I was watching Supernatural instead of Grey's Anatomy.

Thanks for making me laugh. I love how this was edited together, the swells in the music perfectly underscoring the soap operish emoting. And the unicorn was a nice touch! :D Oh how I miss the Days of Our Rainbow Farts.

I've been pondering the same thing. If they come out of this even stronger than before then I might be able to understand it when looking back. But at the moment...so hard.

And I find it hilarious that people were happy to see a make show runner back - considering there is more emoting and relationship trauma than ever before. I think it's a shame there are no women involved atm. I'm not sure I've even seen any female writers. :(

Happy to have helped enabled this little gem of a therapeutic piece. Soapernatural is not an unwarranted little term of endearment that's for sure! LOVE THIS! Brilliant! Still cackling with glee everytime I watch it and what gets me is that when I think about it (and rewatch as I do) you have enough footage to create a 5 minute Soapernatural vid...NOT GONNA LIE! LOL!!! <3

(not quite sure how I feel about that. They don't make the decisions about how the season is going to go and I rather dread to think of them actually watching it. I would like TPTB to know though. It seems I'm not the only one to notice the soapy feel the show has developed). I do know that the Visual effects guy saw it and even commented. :))

I tagged the vid "Season 8" so that's probably why it comes up with the interview.

Interesting comment by Jensen. I haven't listened to any interviews or thoughts because I try to remain spoiler free so I missed that one.

I think it's really obvious that he really clicked with Ty. They have a great chemistry. I think if I wasn;t so annoyed with the season I would be really enjoying them. The fact that it causes friction between the brothers is probably why I haven't really embraced him.

Why did Dean never form a "foxhole" relationship with Cass?

Not that I actually ponder Dean and Cas's relationship much but I would say that he knows Cas in a different context so he hasn't had to form that kind of bond. And I think he spent longer with Benny maybe? IDK. I actually like the bond between Dean and Benny (it makes some sense) I suppose I just wish we didn't have to get all the Benny sob story stuff also...

(oooh, sorry. My bitterness is still showing it seems...)

(actually we might have the reverse of S7. For me...the first half of S7 was strong and clear and the second half lacked real focus and shifted it's trajectory. Maybe the second half of S8 will be the stronger half...*hopes*)
