Teen Wolf
Yes! I have Teen Wolf in the subject and not Supernatural because..dammit Teen Wolf.
I can't see myself ever being totally fannish about TW but I do rather love watching it (and might be just a wee bit hooked!). I have to say though I struggle to know what's going on half the time. Is there a kind of SuperWiki for Teen Wolf? I feel like I need a crash course on the mythology. I have watched every episode and I haven't a clue what's going on in the bigger picture.
Ummm..any TW fans on my flist?
I am liking this series SO much more than when it started. I'm even beginning to like/tolerate Allison. And Lydia is developing into a really interesting and likeable character. Stiles and Scott are probably the reason I watch (along with Stiles and his dad and Scott and his mom and the twin werewolves are grabbing my…er…interest lately) but after every episode I am left wondering what the hell?! Is there a concrete myth arc with this? Are the monsters (yay creepy shadow monsters) all connected in some way? Or are they just MoTWs? And what's with tree stump? (clearly not paying attention with all the bare-chestiness on my screen).
I also wonder with all the sterek shipping stuff how it must be for sterek fans watching the last 4 episodes without them even being on the screen together? And what's with Derek anyway? Why is he so ineffectual? Is it part of the overall all Scott as alpha arc?
(I thought SPN was a challenge to write meta about. I bet TW fans have a harder time with it…)
I do have to say that as male friendships in TV go Scott and Stiles is currently one of my fav. SO uncomplicated. They are just damn good friends - no crappy misunderstandings or manufactured tiffs. They just are. I also like that as a "teen" pitched drama it's handling some issues more maturely than others. And it usually has creepier monsters than SPN. What the…!!
Strangely I have no desire to know "what happens next" as I do with SPN, but I do look forward to seeing the characters, monsters and any discussion that might occur about pack dynamics.

But yes to the Scott and Stiles friendship! They are delightful together and hilariously unsubtle in their shenanigans.

They are! They are such a joy. Love their "Famous Five" quality (*yikes* might be showing my age with that reference....;D)

As for Sterek, well, during last night's ep there was a campaign to tweet "#moresterek" and it trended worldwide. But Jeff Davies is usually very good about telling fans when Derek and Stiles are going to see a lot of each other and when they aren't. He was pretty clear that they wouldn't be sharing a lot of screentime for a good bit of 3b so fans aren't up in arms. I actually think Sterek fans can be pretty good about campaigning for Sterek but in a reasonably calm way. A few hate tweets were sent to an actress who is apparently going to kiss Stiles (or did in last night's ep? haven't seen it yet!) and everyone thought they were from Sterek fans but it turns out they were from Stydia fans. It's not good either way, but at least it's not people rolling their eyes at crazy slash fans again, you know?

Thanks so much for filling me in. The sterek stuff is interesting because even as a non shipper the lack of screen time has been noticeable. In fact, I'm not sure how any shippers would fare in this show. Lot's of changing about. :)
(ha! And I've just read some stuff on tumblr about the meaning behind the kiss (and dialogue). I won't spoil you but apparently there's an underlying message…;)
the mythology and storyline are often really confusing!
I'm glad it's not just me. It looks like it's just made up as it goes - satisfying the story for each episode. I just can't seem to join the dots...

I'm glad I'm not the only one confused by the myth arc/s. ;)

And I will take your advice. I seem to watch for the pretty anyway...

*shrug*
I pay no attention to him, try not to worry about the gaping plot holes, and simply enjoy the pretty. Also, the parents are the best thing on TW. TW may not understand plot or mythos, but they write great parents. :)

As far as shipping Sterek goes, it's not that uncommon on the show for them not to have much screen-time together, so it really doesn't bother me one way or another. Maybe it's just my thing for delayed gratification!
I am definitely liking this season more than last (3B over 3A, stupid fucking labelling system WHY!?!?!), and am actually ENJOYING watching the show! Which really just makes me wonder what Jeff has in store for us...

It's one of the few shows that I feel like the might, one day, honour that ship. Maybe. ;)
Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

I love all the various kid/parent relationships, but Stiles/Dad and Scott/Mum are the best. Her trying to manage to teen wolves in the house is so cool. Just pack it in, you two! I'm also rather fond of Scott/Isaac if it comes to slashing non-canon relationships, much more than I could ever see Stiles/Derek. And, as you said, Stiles and Scott make a great non-slashy duo. No dramas, but they always (try) to have each other's backs.
The stump, I think, is a Mountain Ash, and as such has mystical power and was where the Darach re-fuelled (or something).

And I'm glad I'm not the only one who can't recall the plot points. The Darach story line was totally confusing. And now we have a glowing girl and a tree stuff of fireflys - or something.
I ADORE the parents of the kids in this! For the most part I love all the different relationships. Mostly, they just get on without it being toooo focused on the emotions. I like a bit of that, but I also like the action, adventure and pretty!

The story arcs lately have been confusing as heck, but if you sit back they slowly come together like a mad kaleidoscope of pieces. The tree is all magical and they're connected to it after all the not-dying. Not sure if were meant to get more than that from it, though it does attract more supernatural stuff to the town I believe.
Happy to chat TeenWolf any time with ya. Mwa!

I'm enjoying how much less stressful it is to watch than SPN. It's a fun ride!

Oh it's a fun ride indeed. (And rather a hot one.) :D

Ha! I am beginning to see that! (EVERYBODY has said the same thing!) Lucky there's SO much pretty and feels (and your art!)
