Fly by check in...
I constantly have this urge to bury myself in all things fannish, but time and life just doesn't seem to want to play ball. Boo. :(
Aaaanyway. I am working on the answers to this meme. Thank you! I always love taking about vidding. :) (just wish I had time to actually DO it!)
Jensen on Twitter is filling my fannish heart with glee. Who would have thought?! I love this bts tweet. Be still my goddamn heart!! (perhaps spoilerish to mega mega spoilerphobes)
Also, check out this gorgeous art by

And while I'm swinging by I have to rec to new shows I am watching that I LOVE! The Leftovers and The Strain (warning, that graphic is rather graphic). Neither are really for the squeamish (especially The Strain), but I love that they both take well worn tropes and weave them into something new-ish. The Leftovers is all sorts of confusing - but damn intriguing, and The Strain is just good old fashioned schlock horror that I am a sucker for. I also love a good twist on an old fashioned monster. On paper The Leftovers isn't something that I would normally tune into, but the writing is fantastic (to me anyway) and explores elements of human nature that ring so true. And it treats viewers with respect - not using dramatic scores to "tell" us when we need to be feeling something. The Strain is the opposite end of the spectrum and totally tells us when we need to be feeling something - but it still manages to subvert our expectations to great effect. I am also on the edge of my seat when watching both of these shows.
I'm still catching up on both shows - so no spoilers if you're up to date!
And Teen Wolf, a show that is confusing (but not in a good way) is just so ridiculous I think I might be getting to the end of my patience with it. I still have the last episode to watch (4.11) but I'm feeling less inclined to do so after the non-sensical last episode. I just need Dylan O'Brien to leave so I have NO reason to keep watching (sorry TW fans, but wow - what the hell is that show?!?).
*hugs* to all.Hope you are hanging in there. This seems like a dreadfully long hiatus. I am both excited and full of some sort of despair for S10. I need it to happen so I can at least know!

September flies for me because of work, and once it's over we're nearly there!

Oh man, you never know! I've seen spoiler warnings for one of them walking across a street in a behind the scenes shot. It's like it gives NOTHING away, and yet. (that shot spoils them for being in a car together!).
September is MAD! It will fly by for me too I think...

I watched the first couple of eps of The Strain and have been meaning to get back to it at some point, your rec has moved it up the priority list, since I wasn't sure if it was going to maintain its momentum or descend into ridiculousness. The Leftovers didn't sount at all like my thing, but I am willing to give things a go when people whose taste I trust rec them, so..
Coincidentally, I appear to have fallen into Teen Wolf fic the last couple of days. We caught up on TW when it was up to 4.07 and then left it to accumulate eps again - TW is definitely a binge-watch show. I enjoy it as a fun, not to be taken seriously, monster hunting show and hope the rest of this season doesn't disappoint (though won't get my hopes up given your feelings - its actually good to go into things not expecting too much). The one thing I've learned is not to get invested in any of the characters surviving/staying around apart from the main three dudes.

I was worried The Strain wasn't going to keep up the momentum either - but I have been enthralled so far - though, it's totally up my ally as far as genre TV goes. I've loved watching the monsters emerge and seeing the direction the story is taking.
The Leftovers sounded like something I would never like - but wow, it was nothing like I expected. It's a really interesting look at what happens when some people disappear. It's kind of creepy - and there's one episode that was very disturbing. I think if you watch one episode you'll know if it's for you. It doesn't spoon feed the audience - which I really like.
Ah Teen Wolf… I still watch it for fun and never go in expecting to understand any of it. It probably does make sense to die hard fans - I just couldn't be bothered investing the time it would take to unravel all the pieces and figure out what's going on. I basically watch for the pretty (well, Dylan mostly…;D). It's entertaining, which is a plus. :)

Does it make me bad TW fan to admit I don't know who you mean when you refer to Dylan? I know there are two actors with the same name? Fans seem to be in two camps as to whether the actor who plays Stiles or the actor who plays Derek is the most attractive? Scott's my fave - he's just so nice, and his and Stiles's friendship is adorable. And yes, I am not even attempting to follow the plot :)

Not for the first 3, maybe 4 eps at least (I think!).

Haha! Dylan O'Brien (Stiles). He's SO watchable. And I think his acting is the best in the show (he's in a film that's about to come out - The Maze Runner - so I'm looking forward to that). And I love Scott and Stiles friendship. It's essentially what keeps me hooked. (and just quietly - very very quietly - I don't actually find Derek that attractive. shhhh). The actor who plays him seems lovely though. :)
I just watch the latest episode (4.11) and it was interesting - but I still have no clue what's going on.

I enjoy watching Stiles a lot, but I'm glad he has Scott as his foil - a calmer, more down to earth personality. Ha, I think my fave scene in the entire show is when Scott's mom punishes him with 'No Stiles'.
I don't find Derek (or the actor)attractive at all, he was interesting in the first season but his brooding has got a bit old after all this time. I like watching Scott learning to run a pack and all the newbie werewolves finding their way (or not).

I know, right? I like everyone's faces but have long since given up trying to make sense of that show. I guess the fandom must be way more creative than the show itself. I read a couple of fics recced by a friend, which were pretty awesome.
Checked out that art when I saw your rec on twitter - it's so so beautiful! Also, Jensen on twitter = ♥.

Thanks for pointing towards the painting. It's amazing! :D
And yes, it feels like Season 10 will never come. Weird. But then again, I'm weird, too. So that fits. hahaha. Excuse my weirdo humour after a completely crazy day. Have you seen my brain fly by anywhere? :P
*hugs* x♥x

Haha! Crazy brains are good brains! But if does feel like S10 will never come. The break seems to be going on forever…

I started watching the Strain, I'm afraid it was a bit much for me (a bit overly dramatic for me), though have to say the production was great quality.
Haven't heard of The Leftovers, but going to check it out now!

And yeah, The Strain won't be for everyone. I love a bit of over-the-top monster horror, especially when it's well made.
The Leftover is very different (both to The Strain and to other shows I'm watching) - it's probably not for everyone either. Some of it's quite confronting, but it's an intriguing mystery and I've loved it so far.

I haven't watch a single ep of TW S4 so far, lol. I'm planning to catch up, but, didn't happen yet. IDEK.

I've been watching TW as they come out - as much as it confuses me, I seem to be hooked on watching it. ;)

IF ONLY. I can't believe you stuck it out for as long as you did.

Neither can I! It's seriously the power of Dylan (and Scott and Stiles friendship). And I suppose there are enough other characters that I like to keep me there. But man, what the hell is going on?! Finale yet to see - maybe that will shed some light...;)
