Quick question/s re 10.07

(ETA: answered in a shot! Either my memory is fading or I haven't been paying enough attention. Which, I do have to admit to through some of the angel and demon stuff).



I didn't think too hard on Rowena being Crowley's mother when I watched the ep, but then I started thinking about that in bed last night (as ya do). So, um, Crowley was born a demon then? I take it Rowena is ancient and has always been a witch so maybe she put a spell on her child to make him a demon? I thought demons became demons after many years rotting in hell. Ack! I'm confused (maybe we're not supposed to know yet?).

And where is Hannah now? Do we assume she went back to heaven? (it's open now yeah?).

Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate it. I wonder if that why it's a bit quiet around the place at the moment.

Nope, sold his soul for a few extra inches ("trying to reach double digits"), remember. Just probably knew about demons and spells and hex bags because of Rowena.

I'm pretty sure that's the idea. She gave back her meat suit, which means she is leaving Earth.

Yes, that's what the whole "mission" is about. Getting the angels who don't return to heaven on their own to come home.

Well since heaven being open was given one line where Hannah(?) said we've propped Metatron's door to heaven open, I'm not surprised you missed it. They very conveniently have not mentioned the veil or whether human souls can get into heaven. Basically, it's open enough they can dump most of the angel storyline while leaving Kevin and others being a ghosts a real possibility.

No, Crowley has said before that he was a "sonofa witch, actually." which was why I figured he was so good at all the hex bag antics. But wasn't it that he was a tailor that sold his soul for an "extra couple of inches" (these lines are popping in my head but don't ask me from which eps!) or something?

Haha it's true! I don't pick up on the dialogue that easily, but I did notice that the lamp on the wall in that last episode is the same one they used in Crossroad Blues. And the painting on the wall has been used before too.

Ha, well, I did study the motel rooms A LOT when I was putting together the motel Wiki posts. I've stared at those things a heap. Also, vidding means you see a lot of visuals over and over. :)

I was reading up on the guy who wrote the Malleus Maleficarum bc my daughter has to do a presentation about the witch hunt in Europe. He was misogynistic and probably impotent (blaming witches for it). That's why he claimed that women were weak and subject to the devil - resulting in the highest numbers of killed witches for Germany - and in contrast to other countries, most of the German witches were female.
Maybe the writer who wrote that famous line about Crowley and the few extra inches read about the Malleus Maleficarum guy too?

Ah, that's interesting. I know fandom had big issues with that actual episode and the portrayal of women.

Crowley sold his soul to become a demon, but he's already stated that he was the 'Son of a Witch actually' and that's where he learned how to get one over on the boys at the end of Season 8 instead of doing it the demon way, so there's a chance he would have become a demon regardless of selling his soul :)

Yes I assume we are now fixed on Crowley having been Fergus McCleod - which I suppose was confirmed when Gavin turned up. I was kind of hoping he was much older and more mysterious than that after that episode where he talked about being 3 thousand years old (can't remember offhand which epi that was now).

It does nicely explain why he's so good at witchcraft.
