Flowers that bloom in the Spring...

My garden has some beautiful flowers in it at the moment. I just love looking at them.

Knowing that they will disappear soon I asked my 12 year old daughter to take a photo of each flower. I decided to try my hand at putting some of them into a small montage in Photoshop. I have never used this program before...and, it's not easy! I have utter admiration for those of you who know how to use it. So please excuse how crappy this looks. But (as I said with my first ever vid!) you have to start somewhere.....

Anyway - here is a snap shot of my back yard. This represents only about a third of everything that is blooming at the moment. And of course I had to include a shot of Charlie. And the chooks...

Thanks! There's something kinda nice about having chickens in a backyard. Makes me feel like I don't live in middle of suburbia... :)

I was going to ask where you lived to get such gorgeous flowers this late in the season, but then I looked and realized it's early in the season for you. ;)

Hi and thanks. Spring has just begun, but we have had a lot of rain leading up to it and I think that has lead to lots of extra flowers.

My daughter enjoys taking photos and these days with a digital camera she takes heaps.

EEEE, you posted! I'm so jealous of your garden (not to mention your ability to actually grow things). Alas, I myself have a black thumb; I just enjoy admiring other people's handiwork.

*meep* I did. I had it sitting on my computer for a while and thought, bugger it. Just post it. :)

And it's my hubby that has the green thumb... I don't mind planting them, but he feeds them and takes care of them more than I do. :)

Oh man. Photoshop.... I did feel that by then end of doing that I had learned quite a bit. Especially about the layers and transforming.

Thanks. She loves taking photos so I thought it might be a good project for her. And yes, we have just come into Spring but it won't be long before we get the full on heat.

There's just some magical about spring. But it always seems so brief. It won't be long before we get the full on heat. And it gets very hot in Perth over Summer.

There are times that I would love to see some snow..

And I love autumn too - though we don't get the variety of changing colours in autumn as most of our trees are evergreens. Though we do have this amazing tree in our back yard that goes a brilliant red just before it loses all its leaves.
