Meta rec, vidding and stuff...
I know this has been rec'd all around the place recently AND NO EFFING WONDER!!. Oh. My. God. I was in colour meta heaven reading this. It's incredibly detailed, well observed and well, just plain wonderful. (And to think I was contemplating writing some colour meta myself. *sheesh* This says it all And the post also links to some other wonderful colour meta discussions. AWESOME! It's by
zimshan, who I'm currently fan girling like whoa! :)
This makes me want to make a vid highlighting the use of colour in the show. I have NO IDEA how to structure that. What kind of form it could possibly take. Let alone music. Though sometimes something like that can sit in the brain and suddenly... BING! Idea. ...*waits* "Supernatural: At the Movies" was originally inspired by observing the way some scenes in Supernatural were lit in a very film noir'ish way. So yeah... never know.... *taps foot*
Speaking of vidding. I'm currently chopping up footage that's not SPN. *gulps* Heaps of fun but oh so time consuming. 2 hours equates to about 2 secs at the moment! Also, I think my "can't do without" editing tool has to be my "slicing" tool (even looks like a razor blade in my program). I'm sure I'm abusing it! :) I have to say I'm curious whether other vidders have a favourite -"go to" tool. (or transition, effect etc.)?? I couldn't do without "colour correct" either. Especially with SPN footage.
In other news....
Off to Sydney on Friday. Well the Central Coast. Niece's 21st. Surprise visit. For her and for me. Folks bought me a ticket which I didn't expect \o/. So yay! 2 trips to the east in as many weeks. My biggest concern of course is.. will I be able to watch my show?! I'm taking my laptop... so *yikes* I HOPE SO!! I am so keen to see where they take it from here. I desperately want the boys to now start working together. Potentially, we are in for the biggest final episode TO DATE. I haven't been let down with season finales yet so I can't WAIT to see where they'll take it. :) Which of course means looking forward to the episodes leading up to it. :D :D
*hugs* you all.

And I know what you mean about the next four weeks of episodes. Am so nervously hopeful, I can hardly take it. ;)

Oh wow, really?! It would make an interesting vid I reckon. I'd love to be able to figure out a way to structure it.... how it could work. Maybe it could simply be an "artistic" vid - matching colour with music... Hmmmm
I'm totally here to help you out. :) :) :)
Double wow! *dances* Now I definitelywant to figure something out... :D :D
If anything comes to mind I'll let you know.... ;)

I use Final Cut Express as well. Hee! And I use as many tools as I can. *g* Though I'm sure I don't use the program to the best of its ability. But feel free to ask me any questions. If I don't know I can always point you in a direction where you could find out.

Filters eh? Well, the only add on I have is one I bought to make film look aged. Other than that I stick the the ones it comes with. Though I upgraded recently and it gave me some new stuff. :)
I mostly use the colour filters and the odd effect here and there. Depending on the vid I'm making. :)

Oh it's an incredible read. In fact, she's just posted her colour meta on the last episode. Which is amazing as well!
Oh and Sydney. I'm looking forward to it - though I'll see nothing of Sydney this time around. Well, very little. It came as a nice surprise to be going there twice in such a short time.
Hee! And the weather is killing my choices now .... what to pack!?! Especially as 21st is meant to be somewhat formal... damn! A bit of everything me thinks...
*hugs* and thanks .... ;)
