Notes Yay! I had on my list of things to do this year "make a vid outside SPN fandom". And here it is. :D

This is primarily about flexing my editing chops a little. I love beat editing and this song provided me with the opportunity. I love this remix, but it's not a song that would suit SPN, so I thought I'd give this movie a go. I know not many peeps really like this movie, but I enjoyed it in a very simple (cute guys and gals and lots of action) level. You don't need to know this movie to watch it. So.. um... I'd love it if you gave it a go. *bats eyelashes a wee bit* I'm open to congrit on this. It's a first for me (even though I've vidded action, before I've never really done it on this scale).

I've avoided effects (well, there might be a couple of little ones in there), but this was mainly about cutting and in-clip movement.

{{{Hugs you}}} Yeah, I'm not really one for pointless action movies. A movie needs to have strong, interesting characters that I like in order to keep my interest. Big budget action movies almost never have that.

Hee! Well I like action movies - but I love the ones that have good characters and a good story. Say like Iron Man. I liked GI Joe because I liked the characters - they had pretty good back stories for them (ok, a bit cliched), the action varied and damn it if the actors weren't damn hot too! :D

And whoops! Sammy icon by mistake. (well, Jared actually). My default icon. :) I don't have anything suitable for this vid.

Thank you! It's a fun action movie. This is only half the movie. I was interested mainly in the action sequences. There's heaps more in the movie. Worth checking out if you enjoy lighthearted action. :)

I've not seen the movie, but I like this vid; you use motion extremely well, following and emphasizing the beat. I'm guessing the film doesn't have a deep intellectual plot, but it makes for a very shiny action vid. Downloading now, thanks :)

Dude!! Like dude! This is what you were working on? Like wow! I'm so bummed I missed it. Way to go. I love action vids and your instincts were spot on. I think in my travels action vids tend to avoid effects as there is just so much visual energy going on, you don't want to over do it.

*glomps* Yay! I'm so glad you watched this honey. I'm a little bit proud of it. So much fun to make. I've been inspired ever since you sent me that Iron Man vid - wow, ages ago now but when I saw that I thought I'd love to have a go at an action movie.

dreamrequiem picked me up of a couple of effect overdose moments and reminded me that straight cutting is really all an action vid needs (hee! which I know you would have said as well), which is great for me because I find that easier anyway.

Also, might have some good news re pics for your folders. Stu says it's possible. I'll get back to you as soon as he shows me how to do it. :)

I suppose it isn't really my first. In fact the first one you beta'd for me was pretty action oriented, then there's always "Take Me To the Hospital" and my action section in "At the Movies". But it's certainly the first time I've used a movie and clipped so many action sequences together.

I love vidding action - or anything beat driven. Makes editing easier I suppose.

I have trouble dealing with loud noise or steady booming beats. They make me crazy. That's why I stay away from certain things, like concerts, bars, and gatherings of large groups.

I think that's one reason I don't listen to a lot of music vids. The music invades my brain and causes me to get jittery and I can't enjoy the actual video editing.

It's hell getting old...

This was great hun. Love the use of the explosions on the "boom" lyric and the clips flowed seamlessly.

I still have to see the end of the movie (I was watching it on a place ride and we landed before the end) but what I saw of it was really fun.

How did you enjoy your non SPN vid experience?

Thank you SO much! I actually really enjoyed this movie. It seems not many people did, but it was fast and fun and I really liked that characters.

And yes I did enjoy my non SPN experience. It was nice working with different footage and different music. Probably the thing I'm finding hardest is having a lot less viewers than a SPN vid gets. I know that shouldn't bother me, but I get a bit paranoid about whether it's because the vid sucks or no one wants to take a look.

So I really appreciate you taking a look and commenting.
