I'm not sure, but I thought it was Season 2. I started watching in S2 and I *think* it was not on the WB at that time. I *think* the launch of S2 coincided with that big CW launch party.

I may be wrong though.

Does the SuperWiki have anything on this?

Yup, S2. SuperWiki wasn't responding to me. But on Wikipedia on the CW here:

If you search for the "free to be" campaign paragraph, it mentions Supernatural. And the CW launched in with the 2006 season.

I completely get it because I'm planning to write a companion story for the first one, which I wouldn't have done had it been Kripke'd tonight. I also may never post but it makes me feel better. Sigh.

Season 2 premiere of SPN on Sept 28 2006 was on CW which was formed by a merger of the WB (SPN's former home) and UPN. The merge was announced around end April/May 2006 and when S1 ended, SPN future was unclear due to this. It was two weeks after the finale on May 17 that The CW announced that it had picked up S2. Which is far more than anyone whos not me needs to know!
