Benny has been more of a brother to me this past year than you've ever been!

I was going to vid all these moments but it would have taken too long and I needed the therapy now, so I decided to play with caps instead. You might think between this post and the recent meta post I'm not keen on Benny and Amelia. It's not true at all. I like the introduction of them A LOT and I particularly love how each of them served to be a brother "substitute" while they were missing their other halves. And I know Dean is the bestest big brother EVER (\o/ <3), but this is about Sam being an awesome brother too. I needed to do this. ;)

You know, that moment in Mystery Spot when the Trickster tells Sam all the reasons why his obsession with Dean is a bad, bad thing - I love that all Sam is able to say to that is 'He's my brother', like that is all the explanation anyone could ever need because his brother just encompasses everything in his life. ♥

Oh, and I noticed you missed one of my favourite 'Sam is an awesome' brother moment, namely in Point of No Return, when Sam puts all his trust and faith in his brother - even though Dean is in no position to return the sentiment - and thus manages to save Dean from himself. :)

I also love the small moments when Sam thanks Dean, even though they're harder to convey visually: when he tells him in Like a Virgin that he shouldn't have tried to keep the soulless thing from him but thanks him for trying to protect him, when he thanks him in Mannequin for getting his soul back, when he argues that it is worth reaching out to Cas in 7.1 because Dean hadn't given up on him when he went off the reservation . . .

OMG! I swear to god I had this! I had a clip and had the text and then I took it out for some strange reason (I think because I couldn't find the cap that conveyed that moment).

But ...YES YES! Dean says...if you had faith in me the least I could do is have faith in you...(something like that).

SAM SAVED DEAN ON THE FAITH HE HAS IN HIM! I adored that moment SO much. One of my all time favourites. (I think I'll have to secretly insert it when I have the chance..;D)

YES! ♥ ♥ I think this moment is so important to me because that is the moment Dean finally forgives Sam for his betrayal of their bond in S4. In the S5 opener Dean told Sam that there is nothing he can do to return them to the way they were, but then Sam goes and has faith in Dean when everyone else has given up faith in him, even Dean himself, and that is all it takes to prove Dean's initial assessment wrong. I just love this so frikkin much. ♥

Oh yes! All those moments he actually thanks Dean. He totally knows, appreciates and loves everything Dean does for him.

And in my mind the hug Sam gives Dean in LaV is conveying that utter, heartfelt thanks. I know he then says it but just that god all mighty squeeeeeeze he gives Dean conveys so much.

It's actually nice that the spectre has Dean say such melodramatic things, because even if you were inclined to nod along with his little rant about some of Sam's less-than-stellar choices, at that point you'd have to pull back. I mean, really, Dean. Benny seems like a friendly enough guy, but I don't see him clawing his way out of a torture-induced coma to save you from your recently deified and currently criminally insane angel friend. A little perspective, please.
