I'm actually pretty cool with differing opinions. I mean, I get that there is a lot that people aren't happy with (and I am suspecting it has to do with Dean?) - I know I was deeply unhappy with the first half (though I did love the Purgatory stuff).
I think this season has been fraught with problems. I can't say I have been thrilled with the overall thrust of it. Though I readily admit to loving the Man of Letters introduction. It's curious to me that they've decided to reset so much - particularly with taking Sam back to wanting normal.
I would love to have seen more come out of Dean's time in Purgatory. The notion of it's purity was never fully explored, which I think is a shame.
But yeah, I've come across a mix of reactions. I am curious about yours simply because I probably need to hear from a Dean!gal and how Dean is being perceived at the moment (or what exactly people are unhappy about). I know a lot don't like Dean in the caretaker role (which, yeah...I do quite a lot).
But I'm taking what I can. I've enjoyed more than I've disliked I think.
Opps. Sorry to rant. ;)
EDIT: I just peeked at your Tumblr and yep...I get it. :) That pretty much exactly how I felt about what they were doing to Sam in the first half. And I can't disagree about what you say they are doing to Dean's story line. They HAVE put him back into caretaker mode and as much as I do love they way Dean cares for Sam I would give ANYTHING to see the roles reversed. I have lots of thinky thoughts about that probably not for now...;)
