I am so sorry to hear that the possession was triggery. I'm not sure this episode will help with that at all. It addresses the possession quite a lot and (as you've probably seen) reveals a twist. I have a feeling (though I don't know at all) that Sam won't be possessed for long now that the cat is out of the bag (so to speak). I guess that the second half might be more about the fall out of what Dean has done in terms of their relationship. So hopefully it will see the end of possessed Sam.
And yeah - the torture was hard to take. :(
And thank you! I'm not nearly in the position I was hoping to be with the motels by now - but I am going to try and work on them over January (once I get my xmas gift vid made I'll be clear! *g*).
