Just (another) little idea I'm toying with (though this is connected to an idea I've mentioned before.. so it's not entirely new..)

I'd like get some ideas on the Show's "loose ends" and "holes" (they're in quotation marks because I am in fact quoting Chuck, aka God, aka Kripke... (actually the jury is still out for me that Chuck is god because as my darling beta, [livejournal.com profile] _sharvie (she's back! \o/), mentioned to me the amulet was supposed to glow in the presence of God. Wouldn't it have glowed then when Dean was near him... say in Monster at the End of the Book and Lucifer Rising? Though it was hidden under his shirt in those scenes, so maybe it was glowing and we just didn't see it. I'm not buying it though. Anyway. Off topic).

So. Loose ends. So far I've got...

Amulet
Jesse - the anti-christ (haven't figured out yet why he was introduced)
Raphael in the burning circle (That's still bothering me)

Holes:

Hmmm.... this is a bit trickier. I know each ep usually has some gapping holes, but what about arc wise..???

I know I am picking my flists' brains again ... but my brain is feeling a little fried at the moment...

Cheers me dears. I hope you are all fighting fit and well. And if you've got any thoughts on this I'm all ears. <3

Don't shoot me but who's Jesse? We met the Anti-Christ and I forgot?! I really need to get me some memory tea or something. Yikes!

As for the Amulet...I don't think we ever found out who told Cas that's what the amulet did. Maybe someone was selling him a bunch of bunk to keep him off track. And if Chuck is God, does that mean the boys never met a real prophet? And! Oo, oo! Remember how Dean used Chuck to summon Michael to kill Lilith....cause prophets are protected by Arch-Angels....does this mean either a) Michael knew Chuck was God or b) (and what they are probably going to go on) God stayed in Chuck for a veeeeeeeery long time. I mean if Michael is watching everything he's doing he can't just pop off to do God like stuff....so then is he still all knowing and all seeing?

Hmm....I guess not really a loose end so much as GRRR they took my Chuck from me!!

Working on it now....:)

Jesse (oh damn, I think that was his name... I should have checked) appeared in "I Believe Children are our Future". He was deemed to be extremely powerful and would probably have been able to stop Lucifer. In fact, I thought they may have brought him back in the finale to help out, but no. So I'm incredibly curious about why they introduced us to him in the first place...

And the amulet... wow. Brain hurty stuff there.

Maybe someone was selling him a bunch of bunk to keep him off track.

I would love to think that. And yes - who told Cas about the power of the amulet anyway? And how the hell did Bobby get hold of it to give to Sam to give to John (who gave it to Dean)?

And that whole God thing is sooooo confusing I reckon. It'll be interesting to see if they do anything further with that. Though, sadly yes, I think that will be the last we see of Chuck. (and it kinda annoys me that I think he basically existed to allow Kripke to have some "fun" with the fans - via the books).

Working on it now....:)

Thanks! Just received it. *settles in for a good read*

Joshua said "your magic amulet" wouldn't help them find God, which suggested Castiel was misguided in its power. As I've held all along, the amulets power was actually in what it symbolized.

Crowley of course has Bobby's soul as far as we know.

At the Con on at the moment, in discussing how different S5 and the finale would've been if it was the final season, the boys said it would have been basically the same, but spoke of deliberate "loose ends" left as seeds for S6. I think Jesse is def one of these, as is Bobby's soul. The amulet won't be seen again, and I think we can assume Rapahel was released (I mean there was a lot of rain around!

I'd like get some ideas on the Show's "loose ends" and "holes"

After seeing last night's episode I think there are some holes to discuss. In particular, ...

What?¿? We're not talking about Doctor Who? Supernatural!

Nevermind... :)

Ack! No amulet?! Whaaaa... :((

And I have to say, god I hope that's not how they would have ended it if that had been the show finale... that would have killed me for sure. Surely they both would have ended up in the pit or something... I just. I can't even contemplate that they could have ended like that.... :(

And yes ... I thought Raphael may have been released from all that rain - but...um... he just returned to heaven? He was so full of threat..

Thanks hun. I'm playing with an idea from the words Chuck said at the end. I know there are things that will be played out next season...\o/ Can't wait! :D

HA! When am I ever talking about anything else??!! (I did almost preface the post with "SPN's loose ends..." but then I figure most peeps will know I am solely devoted to SPN. *G*)

Though I did actually catch an episode on Dr Who tonight. So what's everyone thinking about the new Dr? Doesn't grab me personally .... but maybe that's 'cause I like the last one so much...

xx

Everyone has their own preferences in what they love. Thouogh I don't get Supernatural I can understand the love someone can have. Just look at me and the Doctor... and Firefly... and Buffy... and all the rest of the shows I love!

Jumping in here to say I think the rain extinguished the holy fire around Raphael, because Gabriel was set loose from his ring when they turned the sprinklers on in "Changing Channels." I guess we can assume the same happened with Raph?

Just putting in my two cents' worth about Chuck--I've heard it said that it says in the Bible that when a prophet's work is complete, they immediately get called into Heaven, which I'm assuming is what happened in the finale. I don't think Chuck is God, but I think fandom took it and ran, just because of the lack of general knowledge these days about religious lore, etc.

Ah yes...Who would be capable of that other than God maybe..?

Ah ha! I like it. I've never been convinced he was god (Kripke definitely, but not God!).. and this lends more weight to the argument.

thanks hun.. OOoooo and not long now huh??!!

Have fun! :D

I'd still love it if someone would explore the Jess/Jesse thing in SPN. The name has been used at least four times in four presumably unrelated contexts, and when it came up the last time, as the Anti-Christ, I'm all...wow, okay, is that accidental? Bad continuity? Not checking the show-bible, writer-kids? Or does it Mean Something?

(The other two were: Jessie, the name tattooed on Pamela's ass; and Jess(ica, maybe?) was the name of the woman loved by the large, emotionally-disabled ghost that Bobby and Sam had to re-drag to its re-death while Dean freaked out from the fear virus. (Sorry--I suck at episode titles). The reason that last one pinged for me is that the ghost character was so obviously an analog of Sam-on-his-way-to-becoming-evil.)

Possibly I'm overthinking Show. Show does not stand up to much thinking.

Oh wow - I never thought of all those "Jess"s. And of course there's Sam's Jess(ica) also. Ah! I love it... there must be something going on there...

Show seems to always have hidden meanings behind things - not sure if you saw the meta on John's death being at 10.41. Very significant after all! :D

Hmmm......
