This. My god. My heart. This is a wonderful look at S6 Dean, focusing on his relationship with Lisa and Sam. But it's all about Dean. It's incredibly heartbreaking and gives a perfect insight to Dean. Not often a vid brings a tear to my eye. But this. My heart truly ached. Wonderful. Go watch!


*waves* I feel like I've been away but I haven't. Not yet anyway. (Leave for Sydney in a couple of weeks ..\o/). Picked up my new car yesterday. \o/ That's always a nice feeling.

My daughter's been pretty sick, which is not a nice feeling. She's ok but I get panic-y when Drs can't say what's wrong. "Virus" seems to be the generic answer.

Also, thanks for your lovely comments on Wrong. I really appreciate it. That's it for vidding this year. I'd love to have the time to make a little Xmas vid but just not going to happen. I'm still bummed about my festivids vid. Maybe next year.

It's been a fun year though. I'll probably do some sort of vid round up thing before I leave. I'm kinda curious what I got up to this year. *g*

I do have one project (not vid believe it or not) I want to post before I leave. So we'll see how that goes.

Hope your daughter feels better. How long has she been sick?

Advice from a battle-worn mother here - it usually is a virus and it inevitably gets better, but if it seems to go away for a couple days and then roars back in, it's usually a secondary infection and may need antibiotics.

And yeah, that advice was hard won! :)

I hate it when the Dr.s say "Oh, it's a virus". Translation-> they don't want to be bothered with me or my sick kid's silly ass problem.
Just like the time that quack told me Niki was "playing possum". Yeah MoFo, she played it so well, she was dead just a few hours later becuase you did NOTHING!!!

Don't even get me started on these kind of Dr.s

I went and watched that vid as soon as I saw your recc. Absolutely loved it. She did a marvelous job portraying Dean this season. Thanks for reccing it. I'd have missed it otherwise.

It's been a weird one. She went away to Melbourne for an athletics meet and came back with a high temp and very achy etc. Took her to hospital, they ran a series of tests (nothing major showed up) and then they put her on antibiotics. Yesterday she was covered in a rash and her body swelled up - so, back to hosptial. She had an allergic reaction to the antibiotics. Oh man...

She was desperate to go back to school and so sent her off today (against my better judgement, but she said she was fine..).

It's the first time she's been sick like this... odd cold, but never anything hospital worthy (luckily!!)

Thanks hun! I'm such a worrier with these things. I think because I really haven't had a lot of experience.

I did think of you I have to say.*hugs* (I often do - it breaks my heart when I think about it). Though the drs were very good in this case. The spent a lot of time ruling out the big nasty possibilities and treated it seriously. Still makes me worried. She then had a reaction to the antibiotics they gave her... so yeah, it's hard to see them like that.

Oh I'm glad you liked the vid. She's an amazing vidder and if you haven't seen her stuff before I recommend checking it out. She's a vidder I've always looked up to. (Ok, so there might also be a bit of *bowing down* also... )

Oh, I'm glad you liked it. She's a wonderful vidder and this study of Dean is just so spot on. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. Dean just can't find that elusive happiness.... *sniff*

I totally get it... my oldest son has had every weird disease under the sun, including a weird "mumps-like" virus that attacked his pancreas and whooping cough - yes he was vaccinated. He is also my very healthy athlete but when he gets sick, he gets very sick.

Poor girl... hope they find antibiotics that she doesn't have a reaction to. :(

They've taken off the antibiotics all together. So not sure what happens now. I suppose we have to wait to see if she remains on the mend. She did seem better today. :)

just been over at utube and watched your brilliant real audio vid. i wasdrinking coffee and unpleasantly spluttered it all over my nice cream rug, when the part about dean being a really really really bad dancer came up! I loved it.

Just by the way, I think you come from Australia? Is Season 6 of SPN airing at the same time as it is in the US? I live in the UK and it's totally doing my head in that we haven't even started Season 6 yet, and I keep accidentally seeing spoilers about it. I mean, I've sussed that Sam's lost his soul and then that he works out and pays a call-girl: which is totally doing my nut in cos Sam just isn't a call-girl type and, even if he's lost his soul, didn't Bobby lend his soul to Crowley and he had no major personality alteration that I picked up anyhow. And, then I've seen bits about blooming Lisa - I know she was a cool character, but that was in a 'one off' or maybe 'repeating but rarely'-type character. The key to Spn's success if the lonely boys on the road and all the hardship etc. I so hope that it hasn't turned into Dean at home with Lisa and Ben, and at weekends he gets the Impala out and and goes searching for his bro's soul! No,don't tell me.
Sorry, I'm sort of ranting, cos I'm worried that losing Kripke might mean that we've lost the core of what it was about - I think Sera likes to see the boys bods, but 'more is less' as they say and if you lay it all out in front, then there's nothing left to imagine. And I'm wondering if, really, it would have been better to have finished on a high, at the end of Season 5 - with the end of the big story arc, Sam in hell with Lucifer forever and Dean with Lisa and Ben. THE END.
Can you tell me, in a way that doesn't give it all away, if it's still good, or has it gone downhilll do you think? And, any ideas on how I can get to see eps as they come out, rather than having to wait 6 months and missing out on all the reactions etc.?? Sorry to ask dim questions. Ok. So. Yes, I live in Australia and no they are not airing it here at the moment. I dl all the episodes so I am up to date.

I will say that I am loving Season 6. Not everybody is because it's pretty hard going. Hard because yes, Sam returned from hell without his soul and so there's been a lot of unhappy people. But... it has also meant for a very a very interesting season as far as I am concerned. I consider myself a Sam!girl (in that I am invested in his story) but I adore both the boys. Dean has been amazing this season - his love for Sam never falters and it's quite a thing to watch.

There's some fabulous episodes (particularly the one Jensen directed) and some not so awesome ones. But that's the way the show rolls - so it's ok. :D

And I'm wondering if, really, it would have been better to have finished on a high, at the end of Season 5 - with the end of the big story arc, Sam in hell with Lucifer forever and Dean with Lisa and Ben. THE END.

*yikes* Um... in short (for me)...NO! Sam in hell was no "high" for me. Swan Song was the saddest episode ever. If it had ended there I would have been extremely disappointed, because, for me, the boys either have to end dying together (in a blaze of glory) or driving off down the road onto their next adventure. One dead and suffering in hell and one having to live with that just broke my heart. :(

So, for me, the way they have approached season six has been quite brave and interesting. I don't feel that Sera has sold out - sure we have an awesome scene of Jared's bod, but it's in absolute context and makes for quite a powerful (and somewhat sad) scene.

The Dean, Lisa, Ben dynamic is interesting too. They have managed to make Lisa sympathetic and she has (from what I can tell) been a fan favourite. They haven't gone with the senario you mentioned above. :)

Knowing about Sam's soul is very spoilery for the season though. During the airing of this there was a heap of speculation about what was wrong with Sam. It was great fun trying to figure it out. It has been brilliantly played by Jared (his best work so far in any season I reckon). Knowing this about Sam may make the first few episodes not as "interesting".. but still worth watching.

So, (I am very long winded you may have noticed *g*) for me, I think S6 has been excellent. It is still very much about the boys and their relationship. It has a new interesting myth arc in terms of monsters and some interesting new characters.

I hope that has given you an idea about S6. Purely from my point of view of course. :)
