Meta review & Picspam: Return To Me.

A little while back geckoholic and I mused about collaborating in a picspam meta post. For a while I've been wanting to take a look at all the times the Winchester brothers have been separated and reunited.

The following post is the result of me reviewing five seasons of Supernatural and geckoholic providing gorgeous pics to go with it.

Just wanted to say I loved your meta on this, and the graphics are stunning.
When you say Their separations and consequent reunions are one of the driving forces in the show. it just rings so true to me.

It's a bete noir of mine that some people seem to look back especially on the first 3 seasons as if Sam and Dean rode round in the Impala holding hands the whole time.

For me what has made their relationship so interesting, is that it was established from the Pilot, that its never been simple. That these two have this intense love and need for each other, and at the same time they are individuals, trying to find them selves and their own way in the world.

It's an amplified version of the ebb and flow of all relationships - just a little bit more crazy than most ;D

Thank you so much. I get nervous when I post written stuff but there are times when the thinky thoughts won't stay put and I have to get them out.

And I was thrilled when geckoholic mentioned collabing on something. So of course I jumped at the opportunity. Her graphics are indeed stunning.

That's what really got me thinking about the whole separation thing in the first place. The whole series starts with them having been apart and we get to see straight away that they are drawn back to each other - through tragedy. And then we see this occur over and over.

Their love and need is quite something else. It's essentially why I love the show so much. No matter what's going on their relationship is somehow reflected in it. It can't always been plain sailing, otherwise it would be boring I think. I love the ups and downs... (I'm just hoping for a little up time once show resumes..*g*)

No matter what's going on their relationship is somehow reflected in it funny i was just reading an old SPN magazine where one of the writers (Humphris I think) said exactly the same thing! great minds and all that :)

I think also it's their struggles with each other, their conflicts, that highlights their devotion too.

Serious? Oh Hun, I would most definitely like to collab again.. \o/ if I have any other thinky thoughts that need gorgeous pics I'll let you know :). Hee! I'll give you a chance to recover from this one first... :D
