Yay! New episode soon! \o/

In the meantime.. I've been watching a few vids (trying to get my vidding fu back...needing some inspiration to get back into it..). I just saw a vid that makes me think I should close down my editing program forever. Holy crap.... I mean. I look at vids like this and think.. How the hell did they do that? and why can't I, damnit!"(Loki's vids have that effect on me too...*g*) I'm talking purely technicalities here - editing, effects and colouring etc.

This is a song that's been on my vidding list for ages but there's no way I could have done anything like this (but I'm thrilled such a awesome vid has been made to this song...)

Needless to say I think it's amazing:

I know the other source has been used before but I love the way it's integrated into the SPN footage. I also love how SPN footage we've seen over and over looks so different. *guh*

I also enjoyed this. Just a good old celebration of the boys being back together. But what I particularly like is the acknowledgement of where they've been and the song fits perfectly.

Though... why do I have this dread that in tonight's ep they'll say.. "Tricked ya! Sam's not really back!...hahaha" (they won't, I know... but I can't help but be paranoid. I am completely unspoiled for tonight's ep. Wow - I don't think I even know the title...*g*)

I am SO SO SO excited for the anime of Supernatural. I've just been watching the first ep and it looks amazing. (Is it possible to fall in love with an animation?! Forget that... I think I just have. Sammmmmmyyy......<3333) The animation has captured the show's look and feel perfectly. The action is fabulous. I can't wait for the subbed and/or dubbed version to be available.

In the meantime take a look at this lovely vid ashdoode put together. It really shows how well the anime has captured out Show.

I am so apprehensive and excited fr this weeks ep because I have no idea whats going to happen (and i've read all the spoilers!) Just rewatched Like A Virgin and man Jared knocked it out of the park with his acting of Sam this season.

Yes - apprehensive is the word for sure. I just have this niggling feeling Show has something up its sleeve... (which, of course would be totally cool. I love being surprised by it...) but after the joy of the last ep I'm just really worried about when the next "big hurt" will come...

And Jarad! \o/ I am so excited and happy for him. I think he's often viewed as the "lesser" of the actors (especially next to Jensen) but he's really shown off his acting chops this season.

Ooh - and I've just been watching the anime. It looks amazing!! I can't wait for either subbed or dubbed version to be available... (Sam's hair is MADE for anime! :D)

Aaaaahhh. I use downloadhelper - a firefox add-on. It's works really well. I'll check out this one though (assuming it likes macs..) it might be a better way to go.

I personally didn't think there was anything wrong with your vidding-fu? Don't get me wrong, I thought the video was cool but I wasn't left with the same awe-inspiring jaw drop that I am after seeing your videos. I'm not sure if I really know how to explain it, but to me, the way you tell the story is like none other. And your timing always leaves me speechless.

I will admit that I liked the effects you used in Levee Breaks but I don't think effects are mandatory for an awesome video. I think yours stand up on merit alone and I can only hope to be anywhere near the same league as you one day.

Um, btw. I haven't posted to my YT in forever because they always seem to shut mine songs down and I got tired of it. LOL!

Did you figure out your gif situation? I've been meaning to write you back but RL smacked me in the face. I've never used Gimp but I did look at it and ended up using PS, if that tells you anything? Are you still trying to mess with those 12 caps? Cos I can animate it for you, if you want?

I haven't opened my vid program in a while and each time I do I just sit there staring at the time line.. mainly because I have a vid to make (auction one) and I'm struggling with how to actually do it. So instead of just getting on with it, I've been distracting myself...:)

And yeah. I agree effects don't automatically make it a good vid. In fact, they can have the opposite effect. I am happy with the way I vid it's just that I'd love to know how to vid like this. Might not mean I would... but, I see some vids and I just can't figure out what the vidder is doing to make that work. (like when she has the shot of hell in the background (from one footage) and Dean in the foreground (from SPN). I figure she's using some sort of matte - but yeah... I thought it looked very cool.

And really? YT knocking back your songs. I haven't had a knock back for ages. Do you dispute it? It normally works. I only dispute once though. I got a black mark for doing it twice...

I haven't played with the .gifs yet. I wanted to make one for the last post to show a particular thing but posted without it in the end. So I don't need it now - but wow, thanks for your offer.

it's just one of those things (like the vidding thing above), that I see and think "I'd like to be able to do that". (though if I need a .gif I might just take you up on the offer if I can't figure it out..)

Are you having a hard time because you don't really feel the project? Either the theme or the music? You cracked me up with a while ...wasn't it just a couple of weeks ago that you made the fuck up video for the CW??

She definitely used a matte and some serious masking on that video. I have disputed with YT before and now I'm on probation. LOL. I guess that's mostly why I don't even bother.

Anytime I can help, let me know. I'd be glad to. I'd also be glad if you could push some of your heat over this way a bit and I'll give you the colder air. Deal?

Consider the hot air pushed! Man... we've had major bush fires here. My side of the country is on fire and the other side is under water.

Hmmm... the vid. Well, yeah... it's finding a song that's the problem. I mean... I have a couple to consider but I suppose I'm just not feeling it yet. The song I have picked it so left of centre for Bobby that I'm concerned it's just not going to work. I just have to play with it and see if it is going to work. If not, I can try the other song. I think I'm feeling that there's a perfect Bobby song out there - it just hasn't found me yet. So I think I'm procrastinating while I wait..

You know... there is a section on 6.13 that I would like a .gif of. Though, I'm thinking it might be too long. Is there a limit to how many frames there can be? Not sure if you've seen the ep, so I won't spoil you with the detail. But if you're up to it I could use one in the next post I'm planning. If not... it won't be an issue. I can explain the moment instead of show it visually. :D

I am so excited for these animations. It feel like getting double the SPN goodness. I love that they can take the action that bit further. Really stylize it, without loosing the essence. (Love that instead of the boys just being tied up, they are tied up AND hanging over some pit...with lots of rope...*g*)

Thanks for the vid recs - love them both and have already grabbed a copy of the ¬hing one. I have had this song in the back of my mind for like the last five years as a thoroughly excellent potential vidding song...my initial thoughts (and it still can work especially now I read the happy and joyous news that Rosenbaum has finally signed to appear in SV's 2 hour finale - as in the FINAL FINALE FOREVER *sniffs* No more Tom Welling *pouts*) were that this was a Lex Luthor song through and through - but then as my Spn mojo came on I'm just like - totally atmospheric Sam and Dean vid? YES. And this vid totally does it justice - but don't be shutting your vid program any time soon bb. You are just as talented in your own style but like you I totally had the jaw dropping open on some of those effects - especially the pulling out of just a character and transposing onto different backgrounds...just WOW. I'm just all completely in awe and just soooooo so glad that someone has finally vidrocked this Radiohead song. Off to revel in the new episode.

Glad you liked the vids. And yes - to have a vid done so well to Radiohead's song is awesome. Every time I hear it I image it being made into a vid.

And thanks for the vote of confidence. I'm not really an effects vidded - mostly because when I use them I don't want them to exist for the sake of them. And also, no idea how to make some of that stuff work. She totally got away with them in this vid because she was creating a kind of hell. It really just made my jaw drop.
