Question, vid rec and um...a valentine's gif...

Oh wise flist. Please tell me I didn't imagine this. I am sure I read somewhere that Show had originally planned for Dean to return soulless, but it didn't pan out so they resurrected the idea for Sam in Season 6. Did I dream that? If not... a link to the source would be awesome. :)

Ok. So. It kinda bamboozles me that el1ie's vids don't get more notice. She's an extremely classy vidder who creates vids with such heart. She often takes a different angle on the footage Show gives us and creates wonderfully original vids.

Her new vid Only Me is just that. And very different take on Cas. Stalker!Cas to be precise. It's creepy and..er..a little sexy if you ask me..*g* It's fascinating to see the footage we get from the show used in this way. I can believe Cas is a stalker. But there's a whole story going on here too. With Sam out of the way Dean belongs to Cas.... Oh Dean! :(( I love it!

And now..as it is Valentine's day..

That's a sturdy sink -- I sure wouldn't want to have to test one out in those circumstances.

Interesting question about Dean's return. I'm surprised it didn't work out because now that I think about it, this would have been an incredibly powerful reason for Sam's blood drinking and belief that stopping the apocalypse was up to him. I always thought his obsession with Lilith once Dean had been returned seemed to be poorly explained -- and there was also some reference sometime that season to how Dean was missing a part of himself. But perhaps the explanation made less sense once they had decided to angel-ex-machina Dean, as opposed to Sam successfully bringing him back?

I really wish I could find where I read that because I think there was also an explanation about why they decided not to go that route. I think it might well have had to do with Cas working out so well... so something... And Sam may have orginally been planned to somehow bring Dean back. That would have changed things quite dramatically I should imagine...

I like that they have been able to use it this season, even though soulless!Sam has been hard to watch (as in missing sammy...) it's been interesting to watch unfold.

Yes, response to Castiel apparently took everyone by surprise so I can see that it might have changed things. But considering Dean and Sam's behavior in the very first episode, I'm thinking they'd decided on a different route before that. I'll be interested to see if you find out more details.

No, I think I'm done with reviews. I just don't feel the show's giving me enough to invest that sort of time anymore. This past episode had some moments but it seemed like a real waste of a flashback ep to that missing year. Given Dabb and Loflin (who love the flashback format) wrote it, I expected them to do something more with it, but I don't know as we learned anything new about Sam.

That's a shame, but I get where you're coming from. I didn't see the flashbacks as anything more that forming part of the narrative structure so I didn't have any expectations about what they would be about. Maybe that's why I was so thrilled with the episode. Plus I liked that the whole episode was geared to that very final scene. And I suppose for me, the boys are back together, so show is in a place that I'm excited about. :)

Hee.. and I wonder how many times Jared had to perform that scene?... I think the set department would have been checking that sink each time... ;)
