Recs!

It rather late on a Friday night but I thought I'd post some stuff that caught my eye recently...

First up:

Don't Fidget by orukaz.

This! OMG! I don't think I've ever seen hair cutting art before. (why not?!?!) This is adorable and HOT and spot on. (um... possibly wincest - but you can read in to it what you will I think.. if you don't look too carefully below the belt.. ;) ). For me, it's the expressions and I am TOTALLY on board that Dean would cut Sam's hair. (well, pre-souless!Sam anyway. And now I completely understand why soulless!Sam had such crappy hairstyles. Dean wasn't cutting it!! *need fic on that. Stat!.*)

Vids:

Gone by slytherin_eyes. I clicked on this because "Sam Winchester is autistic" caught my eye. I wanted to know how a vidder could achieve that. I watched and was impressed. AU, done well, always impresses me. But this vid had a real heart. I felt the vidder had a good understanding of the issue and managed to portray the isolation that autism brings. The manipulation of footage was very convincing. Lovely work.

Someone Like You by stir_of_echoes. Another vid with enormous heart. I loved the look at the love, loss and heartache the boys have in their lives. I know it sounds bleak but this vid manages not to be. The song is gorgeous and it's edited with pace so it never feels overly weighty in its subject matter. The juxtapositions of clips is wonderful.

The Best Laid Plans by sockkpuppett and sisabet. I not only adore (and kinda flail at) the editing of this vid but I LOVE that we get to see Sam's love for Dean. Sam's love is so there in the show but I don't think it's as obvious as Dean's love for Sam. And yet - this vid makes it damn obvious. <33 It's posted as Sam/Dean but for me it works on a level of their canon love also. It's all encompassing and passionate without having to be 'cesty. (if you know what I mean..)

I'm Coming Home by ashdoode. This is such a perfect song choice at the moment. I'm often not convinced with current pop song choices but this works perfectly for where Sam and Dean are at in Season 6. Lovely editing and leaves you with a feeling of YAY! BOYS! \o/

So. Yay to people being artistic! \o/

Thank you for the rec and for reccing the others I'd only seen Lum's and really enjoyed the other two plus the cuteness of Dean cutting Sam's hair :)
