maichan808 has made for this vid. Simply awesome. Also.. see if you can spot the other posters she's used on the walls. ;)
Thanks:
As usual I have some wonderful people to thank for making this happen.
maichan808 Not only for the incredible movie posters, but for help with the music suggestions, sound editing, the opening and closing titles and for editing the movie transitions. I'm feel blessed to be able to collaborate once again with her. *heffa hugs* hun and THANK YOU!
_sharvie_ My ever faithful and wonderful beta. Thanks as always for your insightful suggestions and great ideas. *mega smish*
deirdre_c For listening to my ideas in the beginning and for suggesting "arthouse" as a theme. I probably had the most fun editing that section *g*. And for your valuable feedback. *glomps on you*
Vid notes
I've been toying with the idea of doing a follow up to Supernatural: At the Movies for a while. When
spn_cinema announced their movie prompts challenge it seemed like the perfect opportunity to get off my butt and start making it.
The concept is the same as my first one. I'm inspired by the way the Show homages movie genres and the way it blatantly "borrows" from actual movies. My aim is to capture elements of each style or genre and showcase them by editing them together.
I claimed Psycho because I remember the episode "Wishful Thinking" homaging the shower scene so wonderfully. I wanted to retell Hitchcock's film Supernatural style. :)
No money made but comments are always gratefully (and warmly) accepted.

Date: 2011-05-18 01:46 am (UTC)I loved 'Apocalypse Nigh', for sliding it in under the apocalypse, but then punching it home with the psychotic military leader. And the Fast and the Fierce! So much fun!!!!!

Date: 2011-05-19 05:46 pm (UTC)This is super adorable, just like the first. Although frankly I come away with these kinds of vids thinking that you guys are geniuses and extremely media savvy, not that Supernatural is.
These are a true remix culture gem! And a great example of what a talented editor can do with found source--pretty much anything you fricking want.
SWEET.
PS: I thought the Waking the Dead (I dunno, the religious one?) was extremely beautiful, and I kept thinking the Psycho one had pieces from the actual movie in it!

Date: 2011-05-19 11:17 pm (UTC)Thanks so much honey. \o/
So glad you liked Waking Death... I'm probably most proud of that one. I've never really edited purely based on the image before - you know, without some sort of narrative. Ohh and religious you reckon? It's totally open to interpretation. Hee... like any arthouse film can be. :)
I started Psycho knowing that the shower footage was a direct take off of that film. Finding the other footage was a bit more challenging. But has you say, once you find the source you can do (almost) anything. ;)
Thanks SO much for your feedback. <333333333
