My hubby never ceases to amaze me...

If you've been around here awhile (going back a few years now), you'll be aware of some of the...um... trials my hubby and I have been through with regards to my fandom activities.

It took a while for me to find the right balance between family life and fandom stuff (but hey, it was a new toy and I had to play with it A LOT!). He still poo poos my show and makes rather insulting comments about it. His favourite is calling the impala the "invisible car". (ok, so he may have a point. But still).

Well. Look what he just bought me. Ordered from eBay! (which means he thought about it!)





Oh man. It's makes me laugh. And want to hug him extra hard. He also bought me John Winchester's Journal for my birthday a while back. (I think he secretly loves the show and just won't admit it..*g*)

I can't believe it's Friday (my time) again. Which of course means new show tomorrow. I haven't A CLUE what we're in for but I CAN NOT WAIT! \o/

Well, thank you! I really enjoy painting--as you can probably tell--and use about five colors per room. Part of the fun of having your own house is decorating how you want it.

I have to put pics of my first house up there too. I was a single mom from the time my oldest son was 7, so worked really long and hard to buy my own house. It was around a 100 years old when I got it and faux painting was a cheap way to cover a lot of flaws in the walls. That's how I got into it.

When I didn't need a big house anymore for me and three kids and bought this house I just kept right on with the paint. It's fun.

This entry just reminded me that I haven't gotten back to you concerning your wonderful answer to my question how you handle the fandom, right?- I'm so sorry! Because I am thankful that we can talk openly about that matter and that you let me know your thoughts and problems. And I should have told you that.

Insulting comments- high five. Though when I told my hubby that he hurt me with it, too, he tried to reign himself in. But these day I don't let him watch with me anymore anyway- I would spend more attention to him than to the episode, and I would be nervous about that. But he accepts my retreat and leaves me in my room until I come back (and sometimes he dries my tears after all). And since this season started he asks me every time how I liked the episode- and he really wants to know! Improvement! Hope! Threesome! ...erm... no. Scratch that.

It took a little while for us to get here. I think in the beginning it was just so new and came as a surprise to both of us. We just didn't handle it well.

Now he's used to it and I think because he can see how happy it makes me he's better with it. And I have to give too of course. Which is cool.

So here I am reading my friends page, though I'm having to avoid all the 708 stuff as I'm saving it to watch tonight... but look at what your hubby got you - how kind and thoughtful is that! And it totally sounds to me like he loves Show, but just can't yet admit it. It's like a friend of mine and her husband who reckons he dislikes cats, but when she's away.... he lets James-the-kitty sleep on their bed! Same difference.

then that is so kind of him isn't it - as he really doesn't like the show, he's being ever so thoughtful and generous (in my view) to be buying you things that he knows you will appreciate, although he doesn't do so himself.
He sounds an absolute star to me.

I have John Winchester's Journal but to be honest I've struggled to get to grips with it. I recently bought Bobby Singer's Guide to Hunting and it's okay so far, but really just a summary of what we all know already I think, although I'm hoping the 'wrap around story' becomes more prominent as I'm enjoying that part of the book. Have you got Bobby's one? There are also a couple of the essay-type books that are quite interesting... and the fiction books have got, in my view, much better than the first three or so. Have you read them Ash?

It's just finding time to fit it all in that's the problem I find!

Your hubby sounds lovely... if I wasn't in a relationship I'd be asking if he has a brother....

Yeah.. my hubby is awesome. He's my soul mate. We'll have been married for 20 years next year. Ack! Sounds like a long time but it doesn't feel like it.

I've read bits of John's journal. I mostly like the sam and dean stuff. Descriptions of Dean looking after Sam fills my heart.

I've read a few of the fiction books. The first 3 I think. Actually, I mostly find the fanfic to be enough to satisfy me. If I can find a good case file I'm in heaven. :D
