How AMAZING is this show?!?!?



I have just watched all of season two and WOW! SQUEE! WOW! SO MUCH LOVE!

I'm not going to go into it because if you've seen them you'll know exactly what I mean. (God! The acting alone makes it all worth it but on top of that .. the writing, the cinematography, the editing, JOHN & SHERLOCK!!!.... \o/. Stunning television).

I do have to mention this though. Please bear in mind I have NO IDEA where Sherlock fandom lives. So I am sure this has been mentioned or discussed somewhere (umm..links?)

My hubby spotted this and I ADORE it to pieces. (from 3.03)

Moriarty says to Sherlock "I owe you a fall". There's obviously a lot tied up in that simple line. Particularly the mutli-layered meanings. The different types of "fall" etc., But this... the visual:



It's subtle and beautiful. The wings representing the fall. The fact that they are black representing good v evil. TOO COOL! I am sure the show is littered with this kind of stuff. I haven't had a chance to delve into it so if you guys have any links I'm interested. (new fandom?! What!!!?? *G*)

I need to source good fic. I actually love the idea of them being a platonic "couple", but if there's writing out there that can convince me otherwise, I'm interested. ;)

It's really something unique and special isn't it? I love the way they film, the way they've placed it so well in modern times, using all the technology, twisting the original stories to reflect our era and yet never once lose the spirit of the character of Sherlock Holmes. I still have the last episode of this season to watch, 3 just doesn't seem enough.

I think I have a few Sherlock fans on my flist, I'll hunt around for some comms and things.

Oooh, I hope I didn't spoil you for the 3rd ep. I don't think I gave too much away there.

And 3 episodes is NOT ENOUGH! I mean, I know they are long, but still.... I NEED MOAR!!

Yep, the newsletters for fandoms are always such a great resource.

No worries at all about spoilers for Sherlock - I don't watch for the plot per se as they are all adaptations of well known stories anyway, Hound of the Baskervilles was an excellent modern adaptation but absolutely no surprises for who and how and what was going on! SPN is the only show I go into lock down over.

Editing to add - don't forget that newsletter covers ALL the Sherlock Holmes fandoms, including books, films and all tv adaptations, so if you're only interested in the BBC Sherlock, then that will narrow it down quite a bit.

Oh yes of course....I haven't read the books so I didn't actually know how that last ep was going to end. Though I'd heard people talk about it.

Ah...it covers them all. Ok. I enjoyed the film as well. Haven't seen the lastest one yet - can't wait to though.

They showed season 1 just before Christmas in Germany - do you have a download link or something for season 2?
some of the comments about Sherlock's voice makes me really curious (I tried to stay away from spoilers, but the voice thing clinged)

I was just mentioning to redteekal (below) that there's no way I'd have the time to check out even a fraction of that. And I saw only one!

I'll check it out for authors I know and like. That might narrow it down. Still probably won't have time to read much though. /o\

It's bloody brilliant TV is what it is. But Ash I don't need even MOAR BLOODY BRILLIANT FIC to read....my ass will never get off the computer. Of course I want to read the good fic. Ok give me THREE. Just three bloody brilliant Sherlock stories and I'll read them. Save them. Cuddle with them. In between my Supernatural fic which I LURRRRRRRVE. I dare not venture into the newsletters. They'll be like Tumblr. You know I have had to place an embargo on my Tumblr visits. I can't do it daily otherwise POOF! Entire day eaten. I go on sparingly - like three times a week (what do you mean if you stay on there for 6 hours you're defeating the limited viewing purpose???). So yeah the sherlock newsletters look HUGE. MUST STAY AWAY. I'll await your recommendations on three must read Sherlock stories. ;-)

The newsletter is OVERWHELMING! There is NO WAY I'll be looking at all those. I'll have to sus out some recs because I just DO NOT HAVE the time to read or even look at a fraction of those.! I can't get through all the SPN fic I have bookmarked.../o\

I adore the show though. Such awesome television!

Oh and... anytime next week except Monday for 7.12 rewatch if you up for it... ;DDD

Wasn't it amazing? I enjoyed season 1 but season 2 IMO is better and I watched that last ep twice and cried a lot.

And hubby caught that graffiti - I just love that they put that there without any fuss. It was never referred to, just there. The filming and the transitions between edits is just.... *GUH*. Really must try and vid it one day...
