I always enjoy the spn_cinema challenge but I have NO idea what I could do this time.
I love playing with genres and as the show homages SO many films it's great to play with them.

I'm not really sure what the challange requirements are, but how about something using or in the style of Monster Movie? I don't think the boys have ever looked better than in blk and white, so maybe a classic movie homage?

Casablanca?
The Maltese Falcon?

Or what about Its a Wonderful Life? Showing what life would be like without the boys?

Wow... how awesome would it be to be able to show what the world would be like without the Winchesters...You'd have all the people they'd saved would be dead.

No idea how you'd actually show that.... but the idea is fabulous.

I adore It's a Wonderful Life. We even have our very own Clarence. :)

I also love the idea of working with the B&W footage. For the challenge you have to pick a particular movie. I claimed Psycho a couple of years ago and played with B&W footage, but not from Monster Movie. The problem is making sure the show has footage to support the chosen film...

I'm guessing this is so obvious that you've already thought of it and dismissed it for very good reasons: The Untouchables

You'd not have much material to work with, but if you're just trying to do a trailer/title sequence thing it might work.

Hee! I had most definitely thought of The Untouchables. I had even typed it into the comment above and then deleted it. My worry was how to structure it... but a trailer or title sequence might just work. ...

Bah! re authors' reactions. I don't really get that... surely this is all about working together and having fun. We have a saying in Australia..(that I kinda love).."it's not sheep stations"... meaning... we aren't talking about something that's gonna make or break lives here. We're talking about fans having fun together, supporting each other....

Here's an idea...do something in the style of Donny Darko and use the "Mad World" tune. We've seen how dark and intense Sam can be and we've seen how Dean can be when he's got nothing left to lose. Remember when he decapped that vamp and had that gleeful look on his bloodspattered face?
Either brother or both would be able to show how messed up in the head a person can become. Plus, you'd get to play with timelines and alternate realities. What's not to love?

Maybe not so much as making it like the movie. More like using the concept of it to portray how strange and screwed up their lives are and how no matter how much they try to make a difference, whatever happens is going to happen anyway.
