First. A motel curiosity.

I rather delight in finding things like this (come on... you know me by now...*g*)

I'm working on Season 4 motel info at the moment (still..) and recognised this blue rose (this from 4.09 I Know What You Did Last Summer).





Look familiar?



This is the motel Sam stayed in in 2.10 Hunted.

The thing is, both motels are called the Blue Rose Motel (that tiny card...or whatever that is called on table in 4.09...is ALL we get for the name. Thank goodness for HD caps...). I'm pretty damn sure they are not the same motel as the decor is COMPLETELY different. It's just curious that they decided to not only use the same rose but give the motel the same name. I'd love to think it was a deliberate attempt to link Sam being hunted in 2.10 because of his powers and Sam actually using his powers (in fact the birth of his real powers) in 4.09. That would be cool.

Couple of other things:

A while back I was trying to confirm the name of this motel. I've had it confirmed as The Aviary. (Supernatural Companion).

Non motel related. Jim Michael, producer of SPN, confirmed that the flashback scene in Repo Man takes place in S3. (Linked to twitter comment posted atall_spn) Curious that some of the comments say "duh" it's obvious. I didn't think it was that obvious actually. As a year had passed when S6 started the SPN timeline is pretty messy.

And um...(completely unrelated to all the above..) I've started listening to A Kept Boy (by poisontaster). I love the podficcer's reading, the writing is great and I love the premise, but... um... can someone tell me what I'm in for with this? As in - it's very Jensen focused and as much as I love Jensen in fics I do need a healthy does of Jared. I'm not sure how I'd go with a pure Jensen/Jeff fic. Ack! I'm torn...

A Kept Boy ends up being essentially Jensen/Jeff, Jared all but disappears, I think. I never actually finished reading but what I read was fantastic. I was just too invested in J2 to keep reading without Jared.

Ah. That's what I needed to know. For some reason I had the idea that Jared featured a lot in this but I think I might be mistaking it for another story. Thanks hun. I think it will end up frustrating me if Jared disappears, no matter how well it's read or written. Xx

Someone may correct me because it was a long time ago that I read it but I am 90% sure Jared doesn't feature.

No, you're correct. I stopped reading for the same reason. I love poisontaster's writing - but I wasn't interested in Jensen/Jeff and Jared becomes inconsequential quite quickly.

Well, I went by Season 3 judging by not only Sam's hair (Attempt at Season 3 hair) but because the show didn't address the one year gap. When Dean went back to 1944 he was still in 2012 if they addressed the year gap it would be 2013 there not 2012.

EDIT: And I never read that fic, I'm not really a fan of the Jensen/Jeff pairing and I'm a Jared girl so I could never really read a fic where Jared wasn't involved heavily somehow.

Ahhhh..... so show has ignored the fact a whole year had passed when S6 started. I missed that in the 1944 ep. (curious... I wonder if that's a slip up or when Cas erased Ben and Lisa's memories they went back a year. Which...no. That wouldn't make sense).

I thought it was S3, mostly because they were looking for Lilith at that time.

Yeah...looks like a podfic I won't continue with. I love Jeff in fic, but I'll be itching for Jared so I better stop now. :)

I'm pretty sure you're right about the rose being deliberate for the reason you mentioned. Also maybe because Sam is off with a woman during part of both episodes. The room in Hunted was blue all over. Is it that way in I Know? There was a lot of discussion about blue in season four being aligned with the angels. This is the episode where they find Anna, I think? I'm trying to remember if roses are a motif in that ep. I know I've seen comments about the big rose window in the church the boys jump through. If I can find the post, I'll send you a link.

Ooh yes. Sam is with Ava and Ruby in those eps.

And no... the interior of the room is very different in 4.09 (It the one where Sam sews up his arm and Dean is in the (rather plain) bathroom.

I'd be curious about the rose motif. I'll check out the church window. I didn't look there.

Roses appears A LOT throughout the show (which I'm sure you know *g*). We've had red, black, blue.. probably white somewhere. No to mention any that might appear on wallpaper.
