Sam Winchester Appreciation Post!

ash48It's Sam's birthday so LET'S CELEBRATE! \o/
My heart went pitter patter and my stomach dropped when Sam popped his head around the door in the Pilot. It was love at first sight. <333
Since then I have fallen in love with many aspects of his character. Some shallow, some not so much.
10 things I love about Sam Winchester (in no particular order)
1. His hair. (hee.. you knew I had to start there *g*)
I have always had a thing for Sam's gorgeous hair. I love it best when it's all over his face.
2. His eyes.
I love the way Sam's "puppy" eyes can express his inner feelings. - his turmoil, his love and despair. I also love that he knows how to "turn them on" when he needs to. As Dean says..."You know, my brother could give you this puppy dog look, and you’d just buy right into it.
3. His compassion.
This man feels. He sees things in grey, not black and white - monsters are not always evil. He takes time to listen to victims and tries to see more than one side to a situation. He has a huge heart and even though it gets him into trouble sometimes he always means well.
4. The love he has for his brother.
Sam adores his big brother. You can see it in his eyes, in his actions and in his words. He'd do anything for Dean. He's tried to be him - live up to him. He's emotionally hurt Dean, sure, but never maliciously. Dean is Sam's everything. He'd be lost (and has been seriously lost) without him.
5. His HOTNESS
Seriously? I even have to say anything? I think not.... *swoon*
6. His flaws
Oh Sammy! This moment when Sam's realises he's been played...*whaaaa* I love his flaws because they make him interesting and human - his desire for revenge, his thirst for blood, his deep anger, his selfishness, his stubbornness, his insistence in having sideburns... all part of a majestic whole.
7. How pretty he is when he's hurt.
Shallow but COME ON! This man is so beautiful when he's hurt...(don't even get me started on when he's tied up!)
8. His bravery and heroism.
This is the man who willingly sent himself into Lucifer's cage to save the world. The man who was saved from hell and safe (and soulless) but absorbed tortured!Sam in order to return to his brother. The man who puts himself in danger time and time again to save people.
9. His journey
*guh* Look what this man has been through - where he's been and where he's come. His destiny was written. He fought it, overcame it but still suffered its consequences. I love Sam's story - he's the boy who wanted a life of his own. He rebelled when he was told that he had to be a hunter, he rebelled when he was told he was destined to be Lucifer's vessel. He's lost so much, but he's won so much also. His is such a complex and interesting story. I adore it.
10. HIM!! (Everything else! Seriously?! I only gave myself 10!?)
And many more besides.
Sam Winchester is love. He's a surviver, a hero, a son, a little brother, a carer and a man with a ridiculously hot body and gorgeous smile and floppy hair.
Happy Birthday Sam. I hope there are many more to come.
