Finally figured out how to got Wild Boys on my iPod :) This has to be my FAV vid out there!! Now if I could just get the "that fabric softener teddy bear, ohh I'm gonna hunt that little bitch down" as a ring tone. That and his rendition of REO and Bon Jovi ;) Would make PTA meeting a little more exciting LOL.

I’m going to warn you before hand, this is going to be kind of a long comment.

First of all I’m going to friend you both in here as well as in youtube, so this comment will cover the “hi, I’m your new stalker”-part. I’ve watched all your vids in youtube that were available, and have just downloaded them all and starting to re-watch them. Which brings us to the part where I throw some Sammy-puppy-eyes at you – is there anyplace I could download the videos:

The download links don’t work and some of them have even disappeared from youtube. It pains me to know there are videos made by you that I have not seen...

I think it’s needless to say that I like your videos very much. I love the way you find the perfect songs and scenes and tell your story or message with them. I’ve watched a lot of Japanese animation music videos and in those circles the more epileptic the effects, the better vidder you are. To a story centric person like me, those kinds of videos give nothing. But to your videos I’ve laughed and swooned and cried and they’ve been just the right shot to my new born supernatural addiction in place of upcoming fifth season.

I will probably give you more make-sense-types of comments in youtube for each of the videos I think are extra special as soon as my hand heals. Shouldn’t have written even this, but I couldn’t enjoy your videos full heartedly without at least somehow telling you how much entertainment they give me.

With regards to the downloads. I hadn't realised so many of those links had expired. I have just discovered the place where I had all my vids (filefront) has deleted them, so I am in the process of uploading some of my vids to another place. (4 shared) It will take me a little while, but when it is done I will let you know.

Some of the copies won't be very good though as I am having to rescue some of them from YT, as I lost a lot of my original copies a while back when the computer crashed.

Friend of a friend, friending you...

Hello.

I think we met at one of the SPN cons in Sydney. I'm a friend of starrylizard and I'm still finding my way around vidding on a Mac (with Final Cut Express) and she suggested that maybe I should talk to you.

My main issue at the moment is converting video formats (especially having vidded PC before).

I used to edit vids with Ulead on the PC and the the best format output was wmv files. I converted some of these to avi using my "idiot proof" converting software McFunsoft Video Converter (which I've had for years and never updated).

But going over to Mac, I found something a bit weird. The timing on the converted files is okay when played on a PC, but seems to be just slightly out of sync on the Mac - which can really mess up the timing of fast paced vid. The output I used was DivX and other Divx files seem okay on both my MacBook Pro and the desktop PC that I still have.

Furthermore, I've now started vidding with Final Cut Express which outputs (best) as mov files. I tried to output as a DivX avi but then is screwed up my aspect ratio (changing 16:9 to 4:3) which I really don't want. And when I take the mov files over to the PC and convert them to DivX then the sound goes slightly out of sync again.

Is this a common problem? Or do I just need to find the right converter?

I can explain what I do and hope that it works for you.

I cut up my footage in MPEGStreamclip and Quicktime 6. I then export the footage as .dv I have trouble using .dvix files or any other format in FCE really so I only use .dv. They are huge files, so that can be a problem if you don't have a lot of disk space. I know some other FCE users use different files and I can find out what that is if you'd rather not go the .dv route.

When I save my final vid I first save it as a .mov (for best quality) and then I convert the .mov to .divx. I have tried exporting it straight to .dvix from FCE but, it seems to come out a bit squished. Though not 16:9 to 4:3. That sounds like a settings problem. You should be able to change that either in your project set up or when you do the export.

I've never switched between PC and Mac. I've only ever used a mac so I'm not familiar with some of those problems.

Another place that's really helpful is mac_vidding_101. There's a lot of people on there that have made the switch. I also have an on line friend who made the change from PC to Mac. Though she went from Vegas to FCE.
