Fellow vidders,
I was wondering if you could link me to a vid you've made using Windows Movie Maker. I am particularly interested in ones that demonstrate beat use.
I don't use or know the program but I have a YT friend that is struggling to find ways to use the beat. I've said editing is one of the best things but I'm interested to know of others that can be found in WMM.
Also, what is the transition called that gives you the "flash" between cuts? Mine's called "Dip to Colour Dissolve" but I have no idea what WMM calls it. I also have an effect that gives a pulse of black flashes - called "blink" - does WMM have anything like that?
Thanks if anyone can help. A link to YT would be great.

Date: 2008-11-09 09:33 am (UTC)The blinking - there are packs by a company called pixelan, quite cheap depends what they want http://www.pixelan.com/mm/intro.htm (again seen in that vid above) (although i might still have the packs and passwords??)
OR you can chop a clip into lots of little pieces and make each fade out to black so again it is like a flash of black rather than a slow fade. i did do this in some vids because the flicker only had one speed option
Erm beat use i guess is also editting - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3N-X-N7dx1k - i used the zoom focus option within a clip that the jumpy like close ups and then back out. - otherwise just quick cuts.
Or - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-FQAQP20rM - quick fades - i liked those
Erm in the vid i showed you first(Filthy MInd) there was also the like zoom in or pulsing i guess (i used ease in/out i think but on a short clip and also put the effect on twice which made it ease faster)
Good places for extra effects, transitions and stuff she might want to try here http://www.hitthebongo.co.uk/videofx/ or there are some bits at http://www.rehanfx.org/products.htm (like split screen.pip and some other transitions) or wmm geeks hang here http://www.windowsmoviemakers.net/Forums/ShowForum.aspx?ForumID=6 - you can find codes and how to save them for some stuff like an overlay (i used that one lol) I faffed with things from these places in this rather old vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eWGCO9rYMfc
You can achieve overlay yourself and by fading two clips over a long time make sure the bit you want is near the middle with hang on either side - save the clip by itself - then import and chop the ends off.
Erm - thats all i got i think... any of my vids before Are you ready?(opening credits vid) are wmm made just a couple got coloured afterwards so anything in those feel free to ask and i'll try and remember what the heck i did!!

Date: 2008-11-11 09:43 am (UTC)Thanks so much - that side my side effect is very nifty. It's the colouring that she's playing with as well, so that will be very helpful.
Hayley mentioned Rehan, so it certainly seems like the place to go. Thanks for your trouble hun!
