Little update.

My holidays are over - it's back to school tomorrow. It was a great break - a highlight being my trip to to watch the premiere and hanging out with missyjack, ruby_jelly, maenad, mel_b_angel and some other lovely fangals. :)

The next 10 weeks are going to be mad. It's the Year 7's final term so there is a HEAP of stuff to do associated with that. I'm also organizing photo exhibition for my media students and preparing my choir for a number of performances. Then there's the school talent show, our graduation assembly item (ACK!), camp and graduation dinner. And reports. /o\

With all of that going on I've decided not to sign up for festivids. It saddens me because I really wanted to join in the fun but I am worried about not completing a vid, so better to be safe. :(

I also have some lovely prompts for the spn_j2_xmas exchange so I really REALLY want to make sure I get that vid done. (I will - it's on the top of my list!)

My hard drive crashed recently and I lost numerous fandom things I had been working on. Luckily I have been able to recover some stuff (including the last 2 vids I made). But I lost all the prep I had made on the Season 5 SuperWiki motel post (grrrr...) and some of the work I had some on counteragent's awesome film. It mostly just means doing stuff over again.

There's also 2 other vids I would really want to make by the end of the year (one a project to help promote a band) - but they seem unlikely at this stage. We'll see. Show is far too distracting and any spare time I have I find myself wanting to do stuff on the new episodes.

In other news - I watched Arrow today and really enjoyed it. So nice to see Katie again. None of the characters irritated me (the way they do in Teen Wolf), so that's a plus. Plus there looks like some good story potential. :) I also watched Cabin in the Woods and that was an absolute hoot! What a way to homage horror films.

Hope you are all well. Another ep soon. I wonder if I will ever stop being nervous about what we might be in for.

Sorry to hear you're not doing festivids because it's so nice to have some Chrismas joy trickle over in the new year and to participate in all the excitement that goes with it. It makes me feel like a little kid a again. But you need to prioritise, and if you find yourself with a little spare time on your hands you can still make a treat. What shows would you've asked for anyway? You always seem to be such a loyal one-show girl that I can't even conceive the idea of you watching other TV.

Is your year 7 like the British, first year of high school (13 yrs of age)? Or do you count differently?

Oh noes, hard drive crashes are the worst, I totally suck at 're-doing' things. If I've done it once I feel bored with it and if I ever do it again it's just a really bare minimum effort affair.

I enjoyed Arrow as well, though the voice overs were horrid. But I'm handwaving that as an attempt to set up the origins story without too much exposition dialog. Hopefully they'll not use it as an ongoing feature.

Yes! That's what I'm thinking. I actually have 2 vids I would love to make so if I have any sort of time I would try and make one of them. :)

What shows would you've asked for anyway?

That's where I'm stuck. I'm not sure what to ask for. I watch a lot of show and movies but I can't think what I'd like to see as a vid at the moment. (actually I'd LOVE someone to do Simon and Simon but I'd be hard pushed finding anyone who'd want to do that).

Hee..yeah. There's only one show I am fannish about. I love a lot of other stuff (Game of Thrones being right up there. I also love White Collar but neither of those are up for grabs). I can't imagine being as fannish about any other show as I am with SPN. Crazy.

And yes - year 7 is normally first year of high school. Only in WA is it the last year of primary (though that is changing in 2 years). They are 12 and 13 year olds.

Oh me too. Re-typing all the motel stuff has been a pain. I also have to re-size all the pics. Luckily I had made a .divx of the film edits I had done (though it's really disappointing to have lost them...).

Yeah. That was a weak spot. Hee...hubby and I spent the episode mocking the voice overs. :D Some off it was certainly a bit twee, but I think it will take time to settle into a comfortable style.

I know 4 days seems ages away, but I still have that hellatus on my mind so yes...4 days is soon! :)

And yeah, losing stuff is a pain. Hubby is doing a major scan of the back up files, but so far nothing is there...;(

YES I DID! Exactly what I thought when I discovered I'd lost pretty much the same amount of info as I did last time. I even did a double copy of the work this time and I lost both files! The universe might be telling me something.

But the universe isn't going to win. I've set a goal for myself and I shall complete it. :))
