This started because I wanted to see how many time large flowers were used in the wallpapers. I then started collecting some recurring themes in wallpapers and then I got carried away and ended up collecting (pretty much) all the wallpapers and murals from seasons 1 to 7.../o\ I have only collected motel wallpapers. I know there are some awesome wallpapers used on other sets but researching that was going to be just tooooo time consuming. This is mostly a visual catalogue - a companion post to the motel information. Though I have made some comments on some of them. ;) They are categorised in themes and then in chronological order within the theme. (Go here for Murals of Supernatural) Large Flowers:  1.09 Home  1.12 Faith (Same as in Home)  3.03 Bad Day at Black Rock  4.11 Family Remains**  4.21 When the Levee Breaks  6.03 The Third Man  7.04 Defending Your Life  7.05 Shut Up, Dr Phil ++ ** Not a motel, but had to include this one - that wallpaper is a treat! I love that there's nothing blocking our view of it. ++ Not a motel either but this flower wall paper is AWESOME! It's in the hairdressers in the opening scene. Other Flowers  3.08 A Very Supernatural Christmas  3.14 Long Distant Call  3.15 Time is on my Side  4.20 The Rapture  5.08 Changing Channels  5.08 Changing Channels  7.08 Time for a Wedding  7.08 Time for a Wedding  7.19 Of Grave Importance I'm pretty sure the flowers in 4.20 are the same as 5.08 - only different colors. I love how the wallpapers in the two sets in 5.08 are identical, but look so different because of the color palette used in the "real" set and the "fake" set. Clever. It's hard to know if those patterns in 3.14 are flowers or starbursts (it's the The Starburst Motel). I'm going with starburst type flowers. ;) Becky's kitchen (7.08) has the same flowers as the motel room in Time is on My Side (3.15) Flock:  2.04 Children Should Play with Dead Things  2.05 Crossroad Blues  3.02 The Kids Are Alright  4.07 It's the Great Pumpkin, Sam Winchester  4.12 Chris Angel is a Douchebag  4.14 Sex and Violence  4.14 Sex and Violence  5.03 Free To Be You and Me  5.12 Swap Meat  6.22 There Will Be Blood I think flock wallpaper is my favourite. It's just so decorative and regal. Circles and curves:  1.19 Provenence  1.21 Salvation  2.07 The Usual Suspects  2.10 Hunted  2.11 Playthings  2.14 Born Under a Bad Sign  4.18 Monster at the end of This Book  4.18 Monster at the End of this Book  5.01 Sympathy for the Devil  5.07 The Curious Case of Dean Winchester  5.13 The Song Remains the Same  5.14 My Bloody Valentine I have ridiculous amounts of love for the wallpapers used in the room from 2.10. A mix of circles and diamonds (see the diamonds below). The metallic circles are completely wild! I also like how they've used that pink wallpaper from 2.07 and then re-used it in 4.18 - only upside down! The disco room from Provenance is an all time classic - I used to think they were diamonds but on closer inspection they are cirlces. And that wallpaper in 2.11 just cracks me up. How does that even exist?! Other geometrical shapes  1.04 Phantom Traveller  2.10 Hunted  3.04 Sin City  4.09 I Know What You Did Last Summer Leaves:  1.09 Home  5.03 Free to be You and Me I think these are leaves (?). Or maybe just green foliage type wallpaper. Others  1.05 Bloody Mary  1.12 Faith  2.20 What is and What Should Never Be  3.11 Mystery Spot  3.12 Jus in Belo  4.01 Lazarus Rising  4.08 Wishful Thinking  5.05 Fallen Idols  6.17 My Heart Will Go On  7.03 The Girl Next Door  7.14 Plucky Pennywhistle's Magical Menagerie I could have labeled some of these... "what the hell IS that?!" I mean - 1.05, 1.12 and 5.05 are just weird (I love the one from 1.12 though). The horse and cowbody wallpaper from the Jus in Belo room is totally cool. I love it when they use animals in their wallpapers. The Best Ever Wallpaper? I think so...  3.10 Dream a Little Dream  There are simply no words for this wallpaper. Except maybe..CRAZY! (or awesome!) The name of this motel is The Aviary. I'm sure they must feel like they are in one. :)) I think we are really blessed that t have such amazing set designers and dressers on this show. Kudos to Jerry Wanek (Production Designer) and his team. If I had the chance to ask one question to Jerry it would be...where the hell do you find these wallpapers?! I had to go back and look at the paper from As Time Goes By..the yellow hourglass stuff is really close to the red in the Curious Case of Dean Winchester, not surprising due to the time-running-out feeling in that ep. It's not the same stuff recolored but close. The paper in the room where Henry comes through the closet is like a red and gold version of the stuff behind Sam in I Know What You Did Last Summer but I think it's a different pattern too. There's great murals in Season 7 so it will be fun when you can add those. Awesome post...thanks for putting it together.

The hour glass patterns are great and knowing that they DO match wallpapers to the themes in the episodes makes it more exciting.
I can't wait to get to S7. There were some fab motel rooms and yes...murals! I think by the end we'll have a great collection.
I am slowly working my way through S6, Will you be up for a beta on it when I'm done?

And it's great that you are keeping track of the murals. They've been having more and more of those it seems, but maybe it just seems that way to me because they catch the eye so much more than the patterned wallpapers do.

I agree about the matching design different colours in 420 and 508 - good catch. Agree also with amber1960 about those being flamingos and not flowers as they match those huge one's over Sam's bed...

I mean, it's not really our fault for not picking that things up. there's something else a little distracting in that scene...;)
