Hey guys,

After 2 months of rehearsal my show officially opens tomorrow night (we had a preview night last night to a small audience).

It's been great fun. Nothing quite like playing dress up and working with some great actors.

The set and lights and visuals are great. The techies have worked really hard on this one (even after the lighting board lost ALL the cues 2 days before final dress. New board, redone cues and all ready again...)

Looks AWESOME! And you make a lovely Weird Sister! ;) But if you're not supposed to mention the name of the "Scottish play" for fear of, yanno, bad luck and such . . . what do you do when you're PERFORMING the "Scottish play"?

Apparently you can say the name when you are in the show - it's only back stage that you can't. Most cast members don't believe in the superstition so ignore that (though we've had some bad luck during the show - but as they say there's usually bad luck in any show).

Funny how stage plays can do these types of effects and nothing is said. But let our tv shows or movies give us a anything less than perfection, then people are crying bloody murder. :)

And yeah - I think because special effects have some so far in movies etc. we find it hard to accept effects that we can "see" these days. On stage we can always see how the effects are being made (slide projector in our case) so there's less mystery. And especially in our case it's an amateur production so a certain amount is forgiven I think. (I hope.. :D)

(Unfortunately, the only icon I have that is related to anything theatrical is this one so we'll just enjoy the fancy box seats and ignore the snarky old dudes. They won't like it so what else is new?)

Yes. My real hair gets quite a battering. In fact, in these pics it's just teased up - which I did. I now have a hairdresser and she uses a crimping iron on it so it ends up even bigger and messier (I look like a witch out of the '80s).

Break a leg! Looks fabulous. :) Macbeth is one of my earliest favs of Shakespeare. I memories the three sisters bits out of the whole play when I was about 13. :) (And to think I used to think I never liked supernatural/monster stuff when I was a kid).

I've never seen Macbeth on stage (only in films). I've always loved it. The version we are doing requires the audience to come with quite a bit of knowledge about Macbeth already - which has meant that some of the audience doesn't have a clue what's going on...;)
