SEASON 9!!!!!!!!!!! Wheeee!!!!

ash48OH MY FUCKING GOD! I have just watch the S9 sneak peak and I am so FUCKING EXCITED! (So excited I am swearing...)
Here's the sneak peak (massive spoiler alert!! I haven't checked tumblr yet but I figure there will be gifs and pics EVERYWHERE! No good for spoilerphobes that place..../o\)
I love that the phrase "the boys chose each other" keeps coming up. They are stronger but the decision Dean makes will have consequences! (hee...when don't they. Let's consider the massive consequences selling his soul had for a moment....). BOYS!!! <333
I'm excited for Cas's story. I have discovered that I seem to be more interested in him when he's own his own for some reason. I think it takes away element of Cas always having to be in scenes with Dean - or something. I think it will allow him to develop outside of the Winchesters and therefore a potentially stronger character will emerge. It might also mean that when he does meet up with them he's at least discovered a few things by himself and his relationship with both Dean and Sam will be even stronger.
OMG!! We have some hurt!Dean and some hurt!Sam which makes me go ASLKJLDKL!^$%@O!QQEHWKHFGDKJ!!!! \o/ DEAN looks so angsty and troubled. I WANT TO KNOW WHAT THIS DECISION IS! (not before I watch it mind you...;D). And what about Sam?! Will he just get better and that be the end of it? I'm gonna guess not! And Dean making another decision (sacrifice maybe?) on Sam's behalf has got to have some ramifications...
ABADDON!!!! \o/ SO SO much love for that character (well, probably the actress playing the character!). YAY!
I'm excited that Bobby will be back in an "unexpected way". Thank goodness! I don't merely want him resurrected and back to being the Bobby we already had.
I've never been terrifically excited for Crowley but I think there's some great potential for deeper character development (more than just superficial nastiness).
Charlie yay! I wonder if Garth will be back>? I HOPE SO!!! I love hearing the talk about the show and the characters. It gives me confidence that they have really planned out the whole season based on character development.
ETA: MEN OF LETTERS!!! Forgot to mention how god damn excited I am about more MoL!!!!

Date: 2013-09-10 02:13 pm (UTC)I love Bobby and I hate that the impact of his death has been, for me at least, diminished by having him return repeatedly. I hope they do something really good with his character.
I too like the emphasis on Sam and Dean having chosen each other. I'm not so thrilled with Dean keeping secrets from Sam again -- especially something that is apparently about Sam. I hope it isn't just another excuse for drama like not having Sam look for Dean last season.
I'm glad Alaina Huffman will be back as Abbadon, although I wonder how they will explain the same vessel after it was killed in Sacrifice.
I'm really interested to see how they'll handle Crowley. Mark Shepherd is such a terrific actor and what a great job he did in Sacrifice!
I have to admit, I'm less excited than you are though. The writing was very uneven last season, and now they've lost Edlund as well. I hope the writers really bring their best game to S9.

And yeah - the writing was uneven last season and I am a little wary of that (and Boo Edlund going!) but because it ended strong and they seem to have set up a solid story arc going into S9 I'm more optimistic than I certainly was going in to S8. I'm thrilled Robbie Thompson is still in the mix of writers - I think he always delivers solid episodes. As does Carver himself I think.

I'm very curious about Cas' story, too. Will be interesting to see how he adjusts to being human. I feel the same way, I'm a bit more interested in him whenever he's on his own and not with the boys.
I think I heard that Garth will be back! DJ tweeted Jared around the time of VanCon and said he'd be back working with them. Something like that. Hope it pans out!

Looks like there will be plenty of whumped boys to go around. With all the fallen angels and leaderless demons running around, you know people are going to get caught in the crossfire big time. I hope they have underground chapters of Defense Against Supernatural Stuff forming. I'm really hopeful about this season.

It's interesting the way Carver talks about a world the boys are not used to - or haven't seen before. There's potential for lots of new and creative stories.
I still hope we get lots of other monsters - I'm sure we will. I expect the angels and the demon stuff with be part of the major arc, but there will still be MoTW eps.

The TV programming always baffles me - but they purely go for the ratings so hence all the reality TV crap. I suppose it's good that they do have these other stations to shunt the "less popular" shows on to.
Hopefully they'll start S9 when they start it in the US. :)
