This was deliberate yes? An in joke? That's how I read it. I kinda laughed out loud when Tuesday was mentioned. (As in Mystery Spot Tuesday). Surely they couldn't have that big of a mistake... It's just far to damn obvious. I took Crowley's "Tuesdays, what could go wrong" as a bit of a wink. And Jensen's "nope". Also Jared's emphasis on "ever". Maybe I'm making the wrong assumption?

I sincerely hope they meant it. Carver wrote Mystery Spot and I am sure he would have had the final say on this promo (wouldn't he?). Also...I think they like to stir us up a bit.... If it is an oversight I will be very disappointed...:(

I'm pretty certain it's supposed to be a joke. Carver has been semi good a remember the past seasons and I doubt he would forget an episode he wrote.

I think many have thought the promo team screwed up. But I reckon the Js would be like...er...but what about Mystery Spot Tuesday (I figure they'd remember at least). Hmmm...maybe that's why they played it the way they did. Though - I'm going to go with deliberately written that way because of the connection the show has with Tuesdays...:)

If I only trusted the writers more, ya know? I don't know how much the writers and the promo people talk either. I'm going to go with a nudge nudge wink wink thing. I can't believe they'd be that off about this. I'm just waiting for someone to jump out from behind the curtain and yell, "Trolled, Ha Ha." For people who are more casual viewers, it isn't going to mean anything other than what they actually said.

This looks like it was shot at the same time as the promo pictures. They need to let Sam go without layers more often.

at first i was pissed, like what? tuesday? how could they forget? then i thought maybe they meant jared and jensen on tuesday, no, that doesn't make sense. then i thought, they have to be fucking with us.

If you'd asked me anytime up until the end of season 7 I'd have said OF COURSE it's a joke! Having seen the sheer mind-numbing number of balls-ups on season 8 though...? Yeah, now I'm not so sure. :P

Having read the comments below it seems clear that they knew exactly what they were doing and it IS all in reference to Mystery Spot's Tuesday.

Though I hear you. They messed up (and re-imagined) some canon last season so it does open up that doubt.

At first my initial response was 'WTF', but then I thought to myself "Oh maybe they're referring to the actual day the show airs rather than the inverse day. Did the show air on a Tuesday during season 3?". So I looked it up and turns out season 3 aired on a Wednesday, so I figured "Ah that explains it". But then I did more digging and turns out season two aired on a Tuesday which means Sam died on a Tuesday (All Hell Breaks Loose Part I) so whatever way you look at it the promo team made a mistake.

I am going to be generous though and give them the benefit of the doubt :)

Mystery Spot Tuesday is the Tuesday I am sure they are referring to. One of them died A LOT on a Tuesday. (and hence Jensen's "thinky" face when Jared mentions it....) and Mark's "what could go wrong" comment...

Either really clever writing or really really lame... ( I desperately want it to be clever).

I think it's a joke. It sounds like a joke. Besides, given all the different days the show has aired I think it's the only way it makes sense. How many people are going to remember what day an episode played six or seven years ago, in order to tell whether they're being ironic? But people who've watched the show will probably remember Tuesday if they remember any day at all.

Also why the actors rather than the characters (aside from Crowley) need to be doing the lines – to keep the tone light. Mystery Spot jokes are really not funny if you're Sam, but are funny if you're just about anyone else. :)

It does sound like a joke. And the format is curious - having Jared and Jensen talk about Sam and Dean and then Crowley appearing and then...it seems like the Js become Sam and Dean. I think it's all very tongue in cheek and fun. They know that WE know the significance of Tuesdays...:)

I never saw a problem with this until I came on LJ because I was assuming a 'real world' Tuesday, which would only apply to season 1 - and if it isn't then, yes, in-joke. Possibly supposed to be ambiguous for the sake of the general viewer vs fanatic?

And given the way Supernatural uses comedy (hello The French Mistake) you'd think people would at least give it the benefit of the doubt. I thought it was hilarious when I first saw it - Show knows us so well! - and then saw the uproar on tumblr about the "mistake" and got confuzzled....(and yes yes, I know...shouldn't take notice of tumblr.../o\)

I believe the glasses are manipped. I thought they were real until someone mentioned to me that they had been manipped on. So - not from any ep or RL photo.

I think it has potential to be either really obvious or somewhat ambiguous. I think it's because of the way it's filmed. I have since been told that the original hash tag for the facebook post was #piginapoke and "Tuesday just got better" - so they are definitely referencing Mystery Spot. Which makes me want to hug them even more!

So yeah - a nod to fans for knowing the show and a call back to a really well known episode (maybe Carver referencing his own episode also...)

I honestly don't know how anyone could think this was anything but humour!! I have heard that fandom was showing it's dumb with some of the "Duhhh have they forgotten about Mystery Spot??" type reactions and I kinda feel sorry for those who would think the show makers were that thick. It's a clever show most of the time, with clever writers - there is no way this wasn't use a humour.
