Supernatural 30 Day Challenge
Sep. 23rd, 2013 08:09 pmDay 11: Favourite Character Introduction.
These two introductions are probably the most cinematically beautiful. I think Death's intro might beat Cas's by a smidgeon - mainly because of the combination of so many elements to make it perfect. I loved the extreme slow motion, the way the autumn leaves are blowing along the street and of course the song "O Death" playing. Absolute class.
Castiel's appearance was also stunning. I particularly loved the way the barn doors opens to reveal him. The use of lighting was perfect. Both these intro suited the character's personalities.

Of course my favourite introductions are these. When Sam poked his head around that door I WAS IN LOVE!!

And then when Dean turned up and LOOKED LIKE THIS...I was head over heels. :))

I actually love how both of these introductions represented their characters. Sam - coy, a little shy, tentative and Dean - brash, flirty and confident.
*guh* look at our baby boys!!

And yes, we did get a good insight into our boys and their personalities in their very first scenes.

Date: 2013-09-23 02:39 pm (UTC)But here it is:
I think the flashback sequence at the beginning of Pilot is a fantastic introduction to the brothers and Winchester family in general. Not only is the direction and effects superb (Mary's death, the explosion of the house) but that night has such significant affect on the lives of the brothers even in the present it was just the perfect way to introduce us to them <3.
On top of that I really like how it gives us little insights into Dean in particular. Such as his caring behaviour when many kids that age would resent the new born showing us that it has always been in Dean's nature to care for others. And that since that night when Dean had to carry Sam out of their burning home he has always felt as though he had Sam's life in his hands.
Honourable Mentions: Castiel and Death's introduction. You explain about those two scenes so well I really have nothing else to add :)
