maichan Wow. Where do I start? The movie posters, the opening and closing title sequences, the movie names and some song suggestions. There is no way this video would have happened without her valuable assistance. Thank you SO MUCH hun.
_sharvie_ My awesometasical beta. Quite a bit of research went into this one and
_sharvie gave me much needed assistance with that. Not to mention her wonderful ideas and incredible eye for detail. Thanks as usual darlin'.
deirdre_c For her suggestion of slapstick - it never occurred to be until she mentioned it. Also for her valuable feedback on that section. *smish*
dinalori For her suggestion of using movie posters to transition the genres. This vid was dead in the water until that idea. :D
Vid notes
This idea came to mind when Jensen mentioned that Supernatural was like a Western. My thought was "yes, as well as many other genres". I've been sitting on it since October last year, never really sure how to make it work. Recently I decided to have another play and when
maichan808 agreed (again) to help me with the graphics I was inspired to go back to it.
I haven't included all the genres I could have. I was gazumped by "Monster Movie" for Classic Horror so I didn't re-visit that one. And I'm sure there are a few others I could have done but 6 was enough!
No money made but comments are always gratefully (and warmly) accepted.

Date: 2009-06-14 12:15 pm (UTC)Pink Panther - music is great and could use clips from Red Sky at night.... lots of slapstick potential...
Indiana Jones - hmmm, I thought about that for this one, but it's been done a bit so I usually stay away. But it does have great potential...
Star Wars - man - that might be tough! Though I suppose the demons could be the stormtroopers, YED as darth (or maybe John?, Leah - Jo? of course Han and Luke go without saying! :D Though I think this has been done heaps too!
batman: Did that one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OmdeRv3d5Pc :D
X-men - Wow! No idea where to start with that one! :D
Sorry - went to town there a bit. You sparked my muse. *g* Unlikely I'll do a sequel though.
Thanks for popping by.

Date: 2009-06-16 12:22 pm (UTC)the Bad Bros II section had me DYING to see the Js in an action movie.
Wouldn't that be awesome! Maybe when SPN finishes they team up to make a buddy action film.... *dreams*. Michael Bay might sign them up.... *dreams some more*
Thanks for popping by....

Date: 2009-06-16 01:43 pm (UTC)I showed it to my husband, who's a huge movie and SPN fan, but not so much into vidding. He immediately started providing narration. *grins*
Love this. Will be watching it many, many more times.

Date: 2009-06-17 09:51 am (UTC)you managed to choose clips that recalled moments that fit the genres within the context of the show, rather than just manipulating source to show what you wanted.
I am so glad you thought so. This is exactly the idea behind this. I wanted to "demonstrate" I suppose, just how good SPN is at using a variety of genres. I always see the "noir" elements in the show (their multiple use of shadow and light and fans) and wanted to capture all those moments in one vid.
So glad you and your husband (man, I wish my husband was an SPN fan!) enjoyed it. Thanks so much for your lovely comment.

Date: 2009-07-12 01:11 am (UTC)I laughed out loud so many times. Your music sections and clip choices were amazing. The gun porn, the slapstick...and the romance was awesome. So glad you pointed me to it, because I'd have hated to have missed out.
Yes, please!!!!

Thank you!

Date: 2009-08-03 09:30 am (UTC)The idea has been swimming around in my brain for a while. I've always been struck how many different genres SPN borrows from, so I wanted to highlight that in a vid.
Thanks again. :D
