Just curious (even though posting it on LJ will skew any sort of "real" results. Though I am hoping to entice some tumblrites to answer also).

I'm thinking about this because I have noticed a lot of LJians migrating to tumblr and it makes me wonder if that's because it offers a more rewarding fandom experience than LJ. For me, it's LJ. I enjoy tumblr but I can (and did!) go days without visiting it, but I can't go a day without checking into LJ.

I consider "rewarding" to mean where you get the most pleasure. Perhaps your "go to" fandom place. The one that is most satisfying as a fandom hangout. The one you feel most at home or perhaps the place you feel you belong.

You post the most beautiful images. I love them, and they are always a welcome break from all the celebrity and show stuff. I love that too, but it's nice to see the imagines you find. <3

I recently created a fannish FB, but it means logging out of my RL one and relogging in and I mostly couldn't be bothered. Is there good stuff on Facebook? Anything that's different to tumblr, twitter etc?

Oh, thank you. I follow some very creative people on Tumblr, and mostly I merely reblog what I find beautiful.

My Twitter account is basically all stealth (not--the aim of "social media," surely). I've been discovered and followed by two people, but basically, it's there if I want to check rumor, fact-find or verify. I don't visit Twitter otherwise. I've heard there are some active FBs dedicated to Show, run by creative and expressive people and contributed to by a dedicated bunch of devotees. I don't pursue fandom on FB, at all. The interface literally makes me anxious and I only use it to keep tabs on geographically distant relatives who are too lazy to use email.

On Tumblr I'm able to pursue a selection of fandom that skews to my own taste, POV, and opinion, thanks to Tumblr savior (which I dl'd, used, and now can't find if I want to use it again!) screening out tags of opinion which are incendiary for me. I follow like-minded fans and occasionally those they follow, and recs they offer.

But, it's LJ that still offers wider POV for me, the chance to read and discuss and broaden my perspective and opinion. LJ suits the way I read and think in words. Tumblr suits my visual reception and reaction. Somehow it works, for me.
