Clipping is so friggin' tedious. I need a break.

Actually I'm happy to have the time to vid but I'd rather just get down and make the darn thing rather than clip, clip, clip.

I've decided that vidding is like doing a giant jigsaw - "I need just the right piece..." When it doesn't fit it's like tearing your hair out and when it does there's that moment of "yes!!". In fact, I'm sure it's those little moments that keep me at it.

I'm 1/3 way through my OC tribute vid and I'm kinda liking it. It's weird though. I know not many peps want to watch vids about the "other characters" that make up a season but I really like reflecting back and taking a better look at these guys. They each have their own story to tell. I was tossing up whether to include Adam. He's only in one episode but he was important I felt... so yep. He's there. :)

I am now itching to start Wind Beneath My Wings. I've since learned that such a vid is called a Lord King Bad Vid and it fills me with glee that such a thing exists with a name. \o/ Of course, I suspect it might be harder than it seems - so I'm looking forward to the challenge (OR it's what I've been doing all this time and so nothing will be different! :D)

I'm on holiday at the moment... which is brilliant beyond words. I often hear people say that teachers get too many holidays. I gotta tell you... we need them! It's ridiculous how burnt out you feel at the end of a term.

*hugs*

Not that I make vids often are that I am ANY good at it, but I HATED the clipping part. It really is so tedius. And annoying. Cause like you, I usually just wanna stick the clips in.

I'm not crazy about Adam, but it's hard to explain why. I think it's because he did something to John's character that I really don't like. After all I really prefer to think of John as just Sam and Dean's father.

Oh well.

Yes. The clipping makes it feel like hard work!

Yeah - I've had the feeling that Adam may not have worked for some folks. I was neither here nor there with him myself. I've since re-visited that episode and watching Dean's face while Adam is telling him about baseball etc. is heart breaking. So I hear ya. Though I suppose that character stood for making us see why John chose to bring up Sam and Dean the way he did ... they are at least still alive.

It's hard to tell his story as well - seeing as how it's not really him through the episode.....

That, about the example of why John brought up Sam and Dean that way, is a very good point. I hadn't thought of that.

I see what you mean, yeah. Luckily though at least some of the time he acts normal enough that you can pretend, yeah?

I did hate how it made Dean feel. Even more than Sam, which is funny considering Sam is the one who used to want normal so much -- I would've expected Sam to be the one most hurt by Adam's upbringing.

Although perhaps part of Dean's woe was due to the fact that he has wanted that for Sam as well. Maybe he was heart-broken a bit on Sam's behalf (which wouldn't surprise me, considering Dean lives for Sam).

I really liked how Sam embraced the idea of having a younger brother. I think it also served to show us how much Sam has changed from the "wanting normal" Sam to the embracing the hunting life Sam. I love watching Sam show Adam the "ropes" much the way Dean must have shown him - it gives Sam the chance to "be in charge" I think.

And poor Dean is still bitter. And I agree. Not so much for himself- but for Sam. And for their childhoods.

Oh and I also love the way Dean says to Sam "baby sit the kid" - the way John must have said to Sam. You can probably tell I really loved that episode. I think it worked to show parallels between Sam, Dean and John. And to show the shifting dynamics between the bros.

*meep* I've blabbed a bit. I do enjoy taking a closer look at episodes.

Well, I don't mind at all! I actually like hearing what other people think, although sometimes the conflicting/negative opinions (which yours isn't!) do make me kind of sad.

I mean, I do like that Sam got the chance to be the 'older brother' for once. I just... well, part of me just irrationally wanted Sam and Dean to be John's only children, and there's also the fact that Adam was dead before they ever met him, which kinda makes it a funny thing to have an opinion on. Can I hate Adam when he never even really existed for them? (I guess not, lol!)

I agree, too; I thought it was very interesting how Sam -- who used to want out so badly -- was raring to explain to Adam all the reasons why he should hunt and everything he would lose if he did -- the Talk John gave to Sam that Sam hated so much, yet suddenly found himself able to pass along.

And poor Dean, who I think, still doesn't realise how much Sam has changed. On the one hand he complains about it -- 'Sex and Violence' comes to mind -- but on the other hand he still expects Sam to want what Sam wanted four years ago, and that Sam IS long gone.

Although I think it's unfair for Dean to say that the Sam he LOVED is gone. ;)

Okay, now I rambled. :P

Hee! This is why our show is so cool!! We get to dissect it and feel stuff about it. Probably also why it can generate such heated discussions. Also why I generally stay away from all that.

It's been nice chatting to you about it though. :D

Yes! I actually do still read certain episode reactions because our fandom is so intelligent -- to match with the show -- that people often come up with symbolism I never would have even thought of on my own!

And it has been nice chatting with you too! I hope I didn't completely ramble your ear eyes off! :P
