I can't deny it - I'm kind of terrified for the 200th episode. It could either be amazingly awesome (maybe fun with a dose of much need character insights) or it could be horribly awkward. I'm going to be watching it with fans so I think that will make it fun no matter what. :)

I am extremely proud that it's done so well and made it this far. There's been many ups and downs along the way but I do think there's a lot of heart in the show. Even now.

I've been building my/our list of 200 reasons to love Supernatural. We're getting there! Some are doing a much better job and have already got 200! [livejournal.com profile] milly_gal, [livejournal.com profile] fannishliss and [livejournal.com profile] wings128 for instance!

Hope you all enjoy it!! Catch ya on the flip side.

I'm extremely curious to find out what Jensen is referring to when he said, “A bit of a meta episode. A bit of a throwback to the fans. Some fans who may have had some interesting, objectionable ideas about the show, or maybe some complaints about the show, or whatever, might want to pay attention, ‘cause we might be calling you out on it.”

I wonder if it means it will finally put the kibosh on Wincest or Destiel once and for all. I'm a Wincest shipper but in all honesty I would be horrified if it were to ever be part of the show, and of course I know it never would be. It's great for fanfics, but the reality of incest is thoroughly disturbing so I don't think they would really feel the need to make any sort of comment on it. But Destiel maybe?

I have no problem with any pairing people want to ship or have as their OTP in fanfics, but I would be very disturbed if it were ever be included in the show. It has nothing to do with gay or bi characters, which I have no objection to at all, but Cas isn't even human! I find it strange that the thought of Cas being in any kind of human sexual relationship doesn't weird people out. Cas isn't in his true form, he's possessing a human being's body. A very pious, straight, married man. The issue of consent as far as Cas goes is a no-brainer. Jimmy, a devout Christian, would never consent to his body being used sexually by an angel with anybody. It was hard enough to come to grips with April, but Cas with a man while wearing Jimmy's body? Oh hell no. All kinds of disturbingly wrong.

I can't think of anything else that Jensen may have meant, so I'm really curious. It was very odd phrasing to use.

Regardless, I'm just going to sit back and enjoy. I'm so proud of them for making it to such a milestone episode and beyond. I'm also ridiculously pleased that no other major or regular characters were involved in this episode. This one needed to be just Sam and Dean, the two that have been in every episode from the beginning. Yippee!!

Enjoy!

I know! I say that interview and wondered exactly the same thing. It's one thing tha makes me worried. If the writers are choosing to say something about something that "objectionable" then fandom will ERUPT! I think it's very dangerous territory. It's another reason why I'm worried. I'm not sure I'm comfortable in the creators taking what the fans love about the show and deciding to "show" us all of those things in the show. we all love so many different things about the show - they can't possibly understand everyone. And I just - I like them on their side of the fence and us on ours. I don't mind some of the fun, but any "love letter to the fans" is concerning. They think we are all Becky after all - and well, no. Just. Man, I hope those school girls aren't supposed to be us.

But yeah, I really want to enjoy. And then possibly sit back and watch the fall out (or squee!). Of which I'll no doubt contribute to somehow…;D

Oh interesting comment from Jensen, I hadn't seen that (avoiding spoilers sometimes means I miss all sorts of snippets!). Oh lord. Imagin the fall out if they were to actually diss Destiel ON THE SHOW, it was bad enough when Jensen spoke out against it in no uncertain terms in JIB this year. Twice.

I only saw that snippet yesterday, and in a comment someone had wrote that they read (somewhere else) that Jensen said it was the first ever episode ever where he had to go and ask Carver what the message was the writers were trying to put across because it wasn't clear to him as an actor...which I guess would make it terribly difficult to do the scenes. If you don't know what the motivation is for your character, how do you play it? So obviously Jensen felt that the writers were trying to make some kind of statement other than just a shout out to the fans.

I guess we'll know soon...
