I've never posted an episode reaction before and I really don't plan to make this a habit .... BUT

I just have to squee over the scene between Nick and Sarah/Lucifer. I know. I know there's lots more to squee about in that episode and I loved it all .... even though I wanted to shake Dean at the end... but that's all cool because I'm sure this season will be about Dean learning to trust Sam again.... BUT...

That scene between Nick and Lucifer really blew me away. First up I loved the intensity of it and the casting was just perfect. The actors seemed totally committed to the moment. Man if Mark Pellegrino is going to be playing Lucifer (which *doh* obviously!) I am totally IN FOR THE RIDE!! I adored the actress who played Sarah/Lucifer (yay! my name!). I loved her tenderness (reminded me of the "death character" from IMRoD actually) .and I loved the way her eyes looked different - one demon!like and the other human!like *eep* I hope that wasn't my screen. I'm really hoping that was deliberate. I kept switching my focus between the two - reminding me that this is not everything it seemed.

I liked Nick's back story - cliched maybe, but worked for the very short amount of time needed to get him to accept.

But really it was the way it played out. The manipulation to get Nick to accept Lucifer into his body. It was a lovely juxtaposition to how Zac was trying to get Dean to accept. Kudos to Kripke.. I liked the comparison.

That's it. Not much I know. But hey... there's a first time for everything! :)

Yeah! I know! Oh Sam. When Bobby was telling him to lose his number.... *sobs*.. and then Dean almost does the same!! *hugs Sam*

Great season return I thought. AND we had Sam's puppy eyes!! \O/

Now I can't wait for next week!!!

I really like that too, and how they're going with a Lucifer that is seductive, sympathetic, and angry at God (or so he claims). The emotional seduction of the vessel, that was fabulous.

You're right! That scene was extremely strong, and really formed a kind of quiet core to the noise and violent intensity of the rest of the ep. Which is arty because of course the very most intense thing going on is Nick providing a vessel for Lucifer.

I was also fascinated by the directorial choice to place both Dean and Bobby on steps so that they were higher than and looking down at Sam, for whole speeches. I need to rewatch, but that really stood out for me.

It was a tremendous episode.

I adore this kind of stuff. And yes, I noticed that too. Status play. (which would be quite tricky with someone as tall and imposing as Jared *g*) but it really emphasis his lower "position" with those during those moments.

Awesome episode. Actually, more so for me now that I've had a chance to mull it over some more..

That scene between Nick and Lucifer really blew me away.

GAH. It was kind of... MESMERISINGLY CREEPY, the way she!Lucifer sucked him in, wasn't it? At first I was all, "No way is he gonna fall for this nonsense!" but it was actually like watching a fish on a hook, slowly but surely being reeled in.

Yes! Mesmerising - that's the word!! I think that was why it stood out to me so much - I was so caught up in it. And I just adored the way Nick responded to all the creepy things that were happening to him as Lucifer "circled" him. A kind of stoicism - it made me smile at times. He wasn't running screaming or freaking out too much. I think I'm really going to like this actor play Lucifer.

Oh yay! And another episode to look forward to next week! \o/

Oh Dean...

I knew that we were going to be in for a rough ride with the two of them this season. They weren't going to be able to meant their relationship in one episode... but it still hurt!

And also - when not!Bobby was berating Sam, Dean just stood there and let him take it. I think that might have broken my fragile heart just as much...

*shakes Dean some more* I do love my protective Dean...let's hope we see him again sometime soon. :)

I was really glad the first Bobby speech turned out to be a demon. For a long time I thought that Bobby seemed to prefer Dean to Sam, and I really hated that, but I've been feeling the love since the end of last season, and I was quite gleeful when he said what he did to fix it. Both of the boys need Bobby so much...

And yeah, Dean's reactions through the episode were owie. Honestly, I think he's using his anger and hurt towards Sam as a cover for his own feeling of failure, and I'm hoping that's going to come out eventually.

Agreed. Bobby was awesome in this ep. I was so glad he was a demon (though how he managed to get possessed is kinda curious....). His love for both the boys is shining through.

Oh yes. I thinks there's a lot going on here for Dean ... I imagine there's going to be a lot said about it to. It will be fascinating to see where the show takes it.... :)
