Con vids...

So I contacted Hub Productions, the guys putting on AHBL con in Australia next month, and told them I was a fan vidder and if they were interesting I'd be chuffed if they might consider using some of my vids in their show (I linked 2 of my vids as a sample of what I do). I didn't hear anything for ages, thinking it wasn't something they'd be interested in, but I just heard from them and they said those vids were suitable (YAY!) and were they any others I'd them to consider of mine to link it to them.

Now I'm not sure which ones I should link?! I'm not really sure of the kind of vids they use in these shows (character vids? general show vids? J2?). If anyone has a suggestion I'm all ears.

Here's my vid list in case anyone see something that might be suitable. (I already linked them We Will Rock You and Dance Freaks).

I will be pretty damn excited if they did end up using a vid of mine. :)

One of my all times favorite J2 vids is your You Make Me Smile (if they allow J2 vids).

Looking through that list, I've noticed a lot of the fanvids that I like come from you!

Congrats, bb!! How exciting for you. Which ones did you send them?

I don't know about Hub, but Creation uses different types of vids. Usually nothing overtly shippy, but I've seen a good mix. My all time fave was the vid they played before the J2 Vancon panel back in 2010, which J2 loved and were talking about.

It might depend on the sing you've chosen whether they can air it or not too I suppose... but YAY! Hope they do this, your vids are the Best and deserve the exposure!

One of the gag reel ones might be good - like the season 9 one?

Oh yay, didn't think about the actual copyright issues. I suppose they'll have to work that out, I'm not sure how they'd be covered for that.

I'm sure I've expressed my adoration for both WWRY and Dance Freaks in the past - they're excellent choices for exhibiting your talent, m'dear.

And I'm wondering if Behind Blue Eyes, might be worth sending them, what with the song having recently been used.

haha! Not sure I'm being singled out (especially as I went knocking on their door). but I'll be happy if they do ending up picking one! :D

And yeah - 9 to 5 is one I could send. I think that would still hold up. And the Dukes could be interesting...

And I didn't think about Blue Eyes, but maybe as they used the song recently.

That's fantastic news, go you! I'm such a fan of your vids I'd send all of them--but I know there are lines you don't want to cross in this situation, and legalities and copyright issues, too. No help, I'm no help, but I think it's great, and I'm sure they'll love whatever you decide to send.

kidding, just kidding. ;) Guess I'm not of much help here. lol.
But perhaps if you offer them a variety (character, general, J2, crack, etc) since you don't know what exactly they want. I also second the idea of sending the cello one. It's a special creation for sure. :)

Your video Dance Freaks is quite literally on my ipod for stressful days. :P

Hubb tends to play a lot of fan videos while people are queuing for their photo ops (which usually takes all morning and sometimes some of the afternoon), as well as eps to keep people entertained. The ones I've seen are usually character orientated (quite a lot of Team Free Will and ensemble ones usually). And they also play a character-appropriate video before introducing the actors in their panels. I can't remember if these are fan vids or things Hubb has spliced together, but that might be worth thinking about in terms of submissions?

You Make Me Smile is great, and I don't think it must be necessarily watched as a shipping thing (I don't ship J2, beyond the friendship, that is, and I still love it). You didn't add anything what wasn't there already or twisted it in a way it really isn't, after all. But if it's too risky, my choice would be Supernatural: At the Movies. It proves the worth of fanworks even for someone who isn't familiar with fandoms. :) And I agree We Will Rock You and Dance Freaks are fine choices, too! They are some of those I keep rewatching.

I went to send At the Movies to discover that You Tube has taken it down. Boo. I sent the sequel, which is still there.

That's awesome news. One of my faves not mentioned so far would have to be Where do we draw the line and there's a certain vid (I hope) to a certain Imagine Dragons song (if you are still vidding it) that will be perfect to submit once it's finished.

Hi! I am most definitely going it be making your vid! I promise. I'm waiting for s10 to finish as I htink it would,be a great s9/ s10 character study for Dean. I'm really looking forward to sinking my teeth into it. :). I'm anticipating the finale will be pretty heavy - and great to vid! (I hope).

Where do,we draw the line is a fave of mine - I'm thnking it would be dated now tho. If I had the time (which, sadly I just don't any more) I'd remake that because the themes they are covering now really suit it.
