Hmmm, well...how long do you have? I could write a heap about his but I suppose I better keep it short.

Mostly it kind of drives me nuts and it has altered the way I see the show now. I will never be able to watch a scene with Dean and Cas and not think of all the ways it will be interpreted as canon destiel (or leading to canon destiel or leading fans on...). I actually struggle to see Dean and Cas's actual relationship anymore (though I've always had trouble with that - it's been all over the place I think).

I have no issue with ships and shipping but find it difficult to understand the absolute insistence that it become canon (by some). Or that the show has been deliberately misleading. But mostly I just don't get it/see it and I wish I did. I would love to be in on it because I reckon there would be another layer to enjoy in the show. But I just don't get what's at all sexy about it. Maybe it's because I don't see Cas as sexual (or even that attractive *ducks* I think Misha is attractive but not Cas. Except when he first appeared. That was hot!). I also just don't see Dean falling in love with Cas. I think there's certainly a level of love there, but romance? Nope. And it's SO popular!! I really wish I could figure out why!

See. Told you that was long. I have thoughts about it...:)) I think shipping destiel for fun in fandom is totally cool. We all love different things. :)

Re: Destiel - yep everything you say. I have read fics Cas/Dean fics that I loved and some that I couldn't finish they were just so awful. I can buy a relationship between them where Cas is season 4 Castiel, full of righteousness and power and something that Dean needed - but since then? Nope. And on screen, I don't see it AT ALL. Yeah, I see the occasional (usually anvil-like) in-jokes and digs at Destiel fans, but no actual spark between the two characters.

Thanks for the link. There are occasions when I think to try and read one to see if I can get it. And I'm sure I'm missing out on great fic for not reading it. Though, it would most definitely have to include Sam for me to even try it. Sam exclusion is possibly why I don't really get into the ship (not that all of the shippers or fics exclude Sam). I actually did read one once where Sam was the major focus and Dean and Cas were the background couple and I actually really liked it. They did actually make a lovely couple! :)

Yep, Sam exclusion either has to make sense in some way, or not be there. An AU has to make sense to me or I can't go there.
