I assume you've always been quite creative! And that you now see in *video clips* So like I see episodes and think, "Owwww, perfect images for graphic work" you do the same for vid clips :)

Hi. Well, I think I'm creative in a theatrical sense (acting and directing for the stage) but I can't for the life of me draw or paint. As a teacher I feel quite uncreative at times (I look at the art teachers room and marvel at how it looks). But I think I do see moving images creatively - and when I watch the show I am always looking at the cinematography and watching how they construct the frames etc.

Thanks. :)

You don't have to draw or paint to be creative, as far as I'm concerned creativity is a state of mind not a product on a page. Which includes being able to see the show the way you do, all those amazing posts about stuff none of us even contemplated when it comes to their production and the hidden meanings.

Personally I think as a teacher no matter the subject you *have* to be a creative person. You're shaping young minds, whether that's with facts and titbits about history, or imparting wisdom on the meaning behind the words in English Lit. all teachers/tutors are creative in their own way or how would you be able to interact with your students :)

How are EARTH can you think of yourself as not being creative?? Your vids kick serious ass, and as you say, you're good at theater. So what if visual arts aren't your strong suit? Who ever said those were the only things that are creative?

Somebody gave you the wrong information, babe.

For some reason I always picture you with kinda shortish hair, like a bop. And you're very level-headed, diplomatic & patient, but I'm imagining that when craptastic stuff in your life reaches critical mass, you can have a somewhat 'explosive' temperament.

Ah, well actually I have long hair. I used to have it quite short (and in a bob), but for a while now I've kept it long-ish (past my shoulders) and blond. :)

And YES to all the rest! I think I am pretty level headed and diplomatic but I am also quite emotional. I have most definitely been know to explode (and then cry!).

Thanks hun.xx

For some reason, I assume you are softly spoken, but that you have a raucous laugh. No idea why.

I think my students wish I was softly spoken but actually, I have quite a loud voice. I blame the theatre training - I am constantly projecting my voice. I also come from a loud family, so when we are together it's a shouting fest! I can have a raucous laugh - I love laughing and try to do it a lot! :))

Thanks honey.

My family is loud now because Mum's deaf so I have to shout all the time - whereas my hubby's family are all very quietly spoken. It's a Suffolk thing, I think - they are certainly softer spoken compared to Liverpudlians!

You own some sort of device most people don't, something semi industrial or such - printer, canner, vacuum sealer, buton maker, circle saw - and you can use it, too!

This one really got me thinking. I feel like I SHOULD have something like that (cause that is really awesome), but I don't think I do. I don't even have kitchen gadgets. I'm going to keep thinking on this one though, because I feel like I might have something - only I can't think of it at them moment…;)

I wouldn't say I'm super tall, but I'm not short. I'm 5'8" - and in most situations (when I'm with groups) I am taller than most in the group (like the teachers group shot *g*).

From what I've read above, I assume you take long strides, but don't particularly care for the outdoors.

Date: 2015-11-28 03:55 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] ash48.livejournal.com
I definitely take long strides. I walk quickly and am often told to slow down as there's no rush. I walk around like I'm on a mission sometimes - even if I'm not.

I have a contradictory relationship with the outdoors. I'm not naturally an outdoors person, but I've lived on the road for 18 months when my hubby and travelled around Australia. I lived in a tent for some of it. I really loved it, but I'm not naturally outdoorsy. But the open air (especially by the sea or huge vistas) are my balm. If I'm down or stressed I head outside.

i assume that you give 100% in whatever you do (like your vids, and your bar) and you love being successful and when something goes wrong, you are disappointed

Date: 2015-11-28 03:58 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] ash48.livejournal.com
I do. And actually, I've tried not to give my all to everything lately because I do get disappointed if something doesn't go well. As I've grown older, I'm handling disappointment better (tho, if the bar hadn't happened I wouldn't have handled that very well. I personally haven't worked hard on it (my hubby's venture), but there's been a lot of emotional investment. I try to protect that side of me a lot of the time.

I don't know why, but I assume you're an outgoing person who is physically affectionate and gives lots of hugs but isn't afraid to say exactly what she thinks if somebody gives her shit.

Date: 2015-11-28 02:45 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] ash48.livejournal.com
I am outgoing - that's true! I adore hugging and hugs - but I'm also a bit shy when it comes to giving hugs if I don't know a person really well. As soon as I know a someone is into hugs then I'm right there! If I'm unsure then I hold back.

isn't afraid to say exactly what she thinks if somebody gives her shit.

Hmm, I am braver on-line on voicing my opinion than I am in real life. I am absolutely terrible in confrontations (it always ends in tears) so I can stand up for myself, but it usually makes me very emotional (I'm that person who just wishes everyone would get along, even if we don't agree…). It's one reason why I couldn't be a politician or vocal advocate (even though I'd like to be).

Thanks. :)

I assume you and your husband met when you were both fairly young. :)

Date: 2015-11-28 02:52 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] ash48.livejournal.com
Ah, actually no. I met him when I was 24 (which, is most definitely young - but I'm thinking you might mean high school sweethearts?). I met him when I travelled to the UK after I finished my teaching degree. At that point in my life I hadn't really met anyone I totally "clicked" with. I didn't really care (to the point where I pretty much concluded I'd never meet the man for me) so I travelled to my birth place to have an adventure and (via a friend) I met the most amazing and wonderful man. We've been together a long time so it definitely feels like we met when we were young. :))

Ha, I'm sorry, at this point of middle age, I think 24 is terribly young. Practically infants!! :D

Oh boy did I ever. It took me a very long time to discover teaching was for me. And how to be "at home" with it. It's been a long journey (but worth it).

I assume that you write comments quickly, and that it's easy for you to express yourself that way.

Hmm, yes. I'd say that's probably true. I'm not sure I find it easy (I am often stuck for the right way to say what I'm feeling, but I find writing comments easy and fun. :)

Me, too. And longer comments can be a struggle for me. Some people find it so easy to write really long comments quickly... as easy as if they were having a RL conversation. I've always wished that I could do that.

I'm glad that writing comments is easy and fun for you. :)
