A YT subscriber has just "challenged" me to make vid with Dean hunting and killing Edward Cullen. HA! Oh that does appeal. Especially as Twilight makes my teeth itch. However, I'm sure there would be cries of foul as it would be seen as copying that buffy/twilight cross over. But boy that made me snorffel.

Mega hugs to all you lovely enablers for your words of encouragement on my vid musing post. For some reason Jo and Ellen muscled their way in (I think because it's the shortest and probably easiest at this busy time) so I've started that... :). I gotta say I've loved vidding S2 again, and even though this is more a celebration than a tearjerker, it's still made me a bit sad...

And finally vidding pays off in RL! And no, not financially but in hugs. I've just finished a day of editing my daughter's school project. She's done all the filming and she asked me if I could put it all together. Which I did. At the end of the day I jokingly asked if she was going to give me a box of chocolates as payment. She turned around and gave me a hug! \o/ She's pre-pubescent so yes, hugs are few and far between these days. WIN

I hope you all had/are having a good weekend. (Only 3 weeks of school left!\o/)

I've been trying to get back to editing my vacation footage but find I keep doing mash-up projects instead.

And only three weeks of work left till my solstice vacation. WooHoo!!! Two weeks where I don't have to think about anything except my own projects!

I don't think I'll ever make a specific challenge, I'll just challenge you to keep on vidding...

Ah yes. I have a wedding vid that I really should be doing but fanvids are just so much more fun!

And I'll be getting a 6 WEEK break!! *koff* Sorry, didn't mean to yell. :)

It was sweet. I mean, I hug her all the time but she rarely turns and gives me one. She's too big for that she reckons! I suppose it'll only get worse the older she gets too... *sigh*

I know. It's scaring me I have to say. One minute I had a sweet little girl and now I have one with lots of attitude! I know it's the growing up process and I love her to pieces but *meep* can't say I'm looking forward to the teen years.

Although "Buffy vs. Edward" is superb, Dean vs. Edward could be thematically different. B vs E is about stalking and female fear of sexual violence and being strong in the face of it and saying we're not gonna take it. And it is (covertly) about comparing Buffy and Bella as protagonists, even though Bella never appears.

So your video could touch on masculinity issues in a different way. Because, lets face it, Dean has some issues when it comes to women, too. Just an idea. Either way you do it, if you do it, I'd like to watch it.

I hadn't really thought about the potential meta issues for Dean - though I agree it could be very interesting.

I'll probably mull this over for a while and see if my brain comes up with anything. If I did end up doing it, I'd probably want to make it vastly different - in form as well has content.

We'll see. But thank you. I hadn't given it much thought until now...:)

When you mentioned Dean hunting Edward, I did immediately think of the Buffy hunting Edward video. But maybe you go about it differently. That video had manipped scenes and audio and didn't have any music. Maybe you can do a regular music vid with just manipped scenes and no voice overs. Except for maybe the very end and have Dean finish with "eat it, Twilight."

Yes. Yes! In fact that was what I was thinking - a music vid rather than the meta type vid.... that way it would be different. And in fact it was that very sentence that the girl mentioned to me.

So if I could think of a suitbale piece of music I might just been in business...... *ponder*
