ash48: (One more clip)

Holy crap. I've just made 62 clips and it's taken me a solid 3 hours. Who does that with their Sundays??! My eyes are killing me.... but I had to take the opportunity while I could..... :) I don't normally vid like that, but I knew all the clips I needed, so just went for it....

Hmmm. My Jo and Ellen vid has stumbled. When you make a vid that you wouldn't want to watch yourself you know it must be dodgy... *sigh* I might see if I can salvage it at some stage.... :(

While I'm here, I want to send massive hugs to all those who gave me warm fuzzies on the vid love meme. I was truly touched. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] sdwolfpup for hosting it. :D

Now for a break.... the sun is shining after all. :)

xx

I've done three hours stretches... and more. I get too involved and forget to ake a break. That's why I installed a break timer on my computer. No more six hour marathons of sitting in one spot...

I loved the meme and have enjoyed wandering through variuos journals and web sites.

nd the sun ain't shining here. :(

Yeah - time gets away that's for sure....

Wow - 6 hours!! :)

Oooh - can I ask you a FCE question. You know how you can add a border to a clip... well, do you know how to add a border to a clip that is cropped? For example if I zoom in on a clip and then crop it down, if I apply a border it doesn't show (because of the zoom and crop I take it).

I'm thinking I would have to make it, export it and re-save it and then import it again. Unless you know of another way?

Just thought I'd ask. :D

The border effect doesn't work cause it's cropped.

I create a solid color shape and cropw it to exactly fit over the cropped clip. Then I put it underneat the cropped clip. Lastly I change the crops on the color shape to extend past the cropped clip.

Thusly, a fake border. But it works - and sounds a tad easier than exporting, re-saving, and importing. :)

Just remember this is for a static clip only. In order to move it around the screen make you moves on the clip first. copy the basic motion to the color shape, and then extend the cropping on the shape.

Ah yes. I see. That's good. Hmm - I had planned to move the image around, so yeah, I can see that that would mean a bit more fiddling. But I understand the idea here..

When you say make a solid colour shape first, um.... how do you do that? In fact I've always wondered how to make a solid colour background and then put images over it?!

Thanks. I hope you don't mind the questions... :)

No, I don't mind the questions. Glad I can help.

1) Click the buttom at the bottom-right of the Viewer window. It has a picture of a film strip with a capital A. It will reveal a dropdown menu. Select Shapes>Matte>Solid Color

2) Select the Control tab.

3) Change the color to whatever you need.

4) Drag it into the timeline and process as described before to crop to the needed size.

I turn one of my worst problems into one of my greatest assets.

I just a little bit OCD. So instead of letting it rule my life I funnel it into my hobbies. This mainly causes me to dive into things really hard and deep cause, well I feel it's necessary to learn every single thing possible.

This keeps me from being a total nutcase in the outside world and I don't step over cracks, line pencils up, or any of those other things I used to do...

You got a question, just ask. If I can answer it, I will.
