Finally!
So this is my 13th vid – and yes, it is what gives the number 13 a bad name! I called it “cursed” at one point – this was after my program crashed after my first complete draft and after my beta’s computer died during the beta process!
It’s been a long haul but I was determined to complete it! So I rebuilt it and 4 drafts later it’s finally here.
My aim here was to make a quality vid – well to a standard that I could achieve at this point in my vidding life. I keep looking at awesome vids and think – that’s what I want to make! But, I have to start somewhere and my hope is that with each attempt I improve a little more. It's the longest I have ever spent making vid - and not because it crashed.
I suppose I wanted to create a “mood” with this. And even though there is no story as such it’s about “Saving People, Hunting Things”. It’s an action vid – with lots of Winchester Wumpage – yep! I’m a sucker for hurt boys. But I also wanted to show a little of the toll it takes on the boys and really – it just all never stops. I also wanted a sense of relentlessness.
I can’t even begin to heap enough thanks and praise on my gorgeous beta
_sharvie_ She has an amazing eye for detail and seems to know exactly what I am trying to achieve, making fabulous suggestions and comments – anything from clip choices, editing, pace and particularly, in this case, colour. Thanks Hun! (Happy birthday btw – hope it’s a good one - with computer up and running?!)
Comments very much appreciated.

Date: 2007-09-26 04:08 am (UTC)Nice touch with the black and white and colored scenes. And the song really works. It really doesn't stop for those two, does it? The baddies will just keep coming and coming...

Date: 2007-09-26 05:51 am (UTC)What a wonderful finish! Yay! I think I said this before but you have just superb timing. Some of those transitions between b/w and color, like the prison girl and the final Sam falling, are just stunning. It was a pleasure to get to see this vid take shape in all its forms.
I'm thrilled you didn't take my advice and post this when the program crashed cause this is leaps and bounds beyond that previous draft and believe it or not, I learned so much about color use and timing helping you with this. For example with the above about internal motion and transitions.
Congrats on the beautiful and brilliant finish!
The vid was so cursed. Isn't it odd that the same day you post is the same day I get my computer back. Hmmm..... *squints eye suspiciously at computer* Interesting. *lol*
