I have a bit of everything, so here goes...

First up a pimp. spnvidrecs gives you the opportunity to share your Favourite Videos of 2009. And believe me. I know how hard this is because I have been trying to narrow down my list. But we'd love to hear from you so pop on over.

Secondly. Anyone who has been following my journal will know some of the struggles I've had with managing fandom activities with my home life. Well, more importantly, having blazing rows with my hubby (who I love to death btw) over the time I spend with it. I've acknowledged that this is more about jealousy than anything else. So you'll understand why counteragent's amazing comic art Good Forth Wall Makes Good Neighbors hit me to the core and I confess that it did indeed bring me to tears.

I know I've ranted about the forth wall before and to be honest the issue raised in the comic is not the issue I have with it coming down, but it did give me a new perspective on it. Powerful stuff.

Thirdly, my Sam vid is complete (\o/)and is now in the capable hands of my lovely beta.

And last but not least, I've been tagged by ancastar (so blame her!) to do this:

A. List seven habits/quirks/facts about yourself.
B. Tag seven people to do the same.

So, here you go:

1. When my hubby and I first started going out he would read Winnie the Pooh to me in bed. He couldn't believe I hadn't read it. It was wonderful. I cried at the end.
2. I am the big sister of 2 sisters and a brother.
3. I have not had a cigarette in (I think) 6 months. Go me!
4. My daughter has been doing Little Athletics since she was 6. She's good at it too. She has won 16 state medals. 4 Gold, 5 silver and 6 Bronze.
5. I've started back at the gym. AND I haven't had a drink in a whole week. (does that smell of a new year's resolution to you?!)
6. I've recently discovered the joys of SPN podcasts. (Great for surviving the treadmill!)
7. I have extremely low tolerance to pain. I would not make a good hunter. To much pain involved.

1. I'm a leftie and I'm pretty much proud of it.
2. I have the worst sight ever >.< And this is pretty much my biggest problem in life.
3. I have a big brother and two cats. All of them are pretty dumb creatures :D
4. My whole family somehow involved to journalism\writing. Except me. Freaking French teacher...
5. I read in English faster than in my native language. Probably that's why I read so much porn *rolls eyes*
6. Till the beginning of 2009 I didn't know about all the joys of "friends list" link on top of my journal. Life was so much easier and funnier after that.
7. My biological clocks are totally dead, so that's why I can easily slip to the night's life - sleep through the day and do something in the night. Even if the rest of the worl sleep at this time.

I always feel guilty when I tag peeps.... though I figure if someone doesn't want to do it they won't. :) But you're not going to get out of it that easy! You never did your "Tagged" vid either and I tagged on that as well I seem to recall! (But, that tag came with an enormous amount of work.)

1. I'm way too old to be a fangirl.
2. I always wait for my son to leave the house so I can use his computer...
3. I have 2 older sisters who don't care for Supernatural at all.
4. I really love horses. They were there for me when no one else was.
5. I was in love only once in my life and it was a bust. (I need a hero...)
6. I have some shamanic powers that show up when they want to and make me look like a weirdo.
7. I have 2 old cats. They eat a lot and try to order me around. Bossy little things...

Aww, sometimes fandom can be a little all encompassing can't it? I'm lucky in that my other half works away most of the week. It actually fills my time perfectly, both reading and writing. Even last night when he was home, we sat on the sofa, me with my laptop writing and him watching the football, together but still doing our own thing. His obsession and yes I use the word obsession with Manchester United is just as bad, if not worse than my fandom love!!

Hubby read you Winnie the Pooh in bed, aww, that is so lovely. Even as an adult I love that book.

Oh yes. And a lot was about me working out how to share my time fairly. I'm getting better at it and we have talked about it so we have a working truce. :) He also has his "obsessions" and we have always enjoyed letting the other have their thing. I just think this "thing" took us both by surprise.

And Winnie the Pooh will always be special, namely because of how I was introduced to it. :)

You'll see the OCD really come into play in this vid I'm working on. "The Doctor's Office" was done to take a break from it and I'll probably do another one or two "instant gratification" vids before it's done.

Like I said, it's a good thing Bev & I don't live together. :)

Ah yes. "Instant gratification" vids. I do that too. I like to "whip" something together quickly sometimes and not labour at it (like the one I have going at the moment).

Ooh - while I've got you (sorry - but you are the opening credits wiz!) You know the opening to CSI Miami? It's got these blurred lines running though the graphics. Is that some sort of traveling matte? (That effect you were explaining to me at Mac 101? Or would overlaying achieve that? Thx

Of fthe top of my head I'd say that's three layers.

• Layer 1 (the bottom layer) is the actual scene.
• Layer 2 (the middle layer) would be the alpha layer. In essence a white shape. This could be either a white matte shape of a shape made in Photoshop.
• Layer 3 (the top layer) is a duplicate of layer one with a Guassian Blur filter applied.

Select Layer 3. Go to Modify > Composite Mode > Travel Matte - Alpha. (I'm pretty sure that's the item, if not try Luma).

Then wherever the white shape is on Layer 2 will reveal what is on Layer 3 which will in essence be a blurry segment of the original scene.

If using a matte shape then you'd control the shape by cropping the edges to control where it shows.

Simple, right???

Anyway, it doesn't appear that Grey's Anatomy has opening credits, at least I can't find any.

Like I said, the vidders will come in and fill the void since companies are eliminating the opening credits from shows. I'm probably going to head in that direction in a while too...

Glad my explanation was clear enough. Once something is explained in steps it make sit far easier to understand. Just wait till I finally  get this next mash-up posted. Took me almost two weeks to figure out how to do the opening sequence...
