Yay! Show tonight. And once again I KNOW NOTHING about it! Not deliberate I just haven't had the time to seek out the spoilers. But I think I might be preferring to be non spoiled. It certainly aided my surprise and enjoyment of the last episode.
Speaking of the last episode. For those who thought it was more about "Sam bashing" than anything else I suggest and recommend this awesome meta by
bardicvoice. (even if you didn't I rec it). Love the insight into Sam. And in fact it suddenly made one thing very clear to me. At the end of MBV Dean pleaded to God for help. In response God has given him Sam. (That might make more sense if you read the meta).

Dean pleads for John's help in Home. To an absent father...

Dean's pleads for God's help in MBV. To an absent... well, I won't say father but maybe a "higher authority".
We've only seen Dean break down twice like this and truly ask for help. Once to John. Once to God. (I kinda like the "John as a kind of god in Dean's eyes" comparison) Both times he's been told to "back off". Well, a "stop looking" from John and a similar "stop looking" from God.
It was Sam's determination that kept them looking for John. I wonder if it will be Sam's determination that will keep them looking for God? Or if not God, a way of averting the seemingly inevitable apocalypse. Sam certainly seemed more resolved to do so at the end of DSotM.
Either way. It was their solidarity that kept them going in their search for John. Sam was instrumental in helping Dean with his grief after John's death. Sam may well be (very) instrumental in helping Dean get through his current emotional despair.
Damn it. More blabbing after that last episode. Ignore me. I'm just in that kind of mood. <3
Enjoy the show guys! I suspect it won't be until late tonight before I get a chance to see it.

We shall see I suppose. :)
