I have a variety of bits and pieces today.

1. For excellent recounts of the AHBL II in Australia you must check out [livejournal.com profile] my_sn_therapy's Syndey recounts Part 1 and Part II Part 2 includes some picutres. [livejournal.com profile] missyjack has a detailed recount of Melbourne's session

2. LJ has been a somewhat difficult place to be around over the last week. It has touched many on my flist and made me feel quite distressed. However, I kept reminding myself of the reasons I even have a LJ account and with spectular timing [livejournal.com profile] zimshan posted this amazing video which basically speaks visually about fandom and why I'm here. Check it out. It's Kill a Man and it's wonderful. (and I'm a little chuffed that a comment I made is in there too *g*)

3. Before the episode 5.21 I posted Dean's To Do List. Of course I couldn't resist doing a little update. I figure Dean had to mull over it to see where he goes next. Nothing profound. Just my little take (and hope) for things to come.

Thanks again to [livejournal.com profile] maichan808 for the graphics. *smishes*

4. Final episodes are always exciting but in many ways this one even more so. My understanding is that Kripke has always had a 5 year plan for the show. So this finale is kinda like the finale he has ALWAYS planned to have. I would like to think that what we will be seeing is what he was thinking about when he initially had plans for the show. I suspect things have changed due to the way the show has developed, but I wondered if this is what it has all been for in the first place??

We will see I suppose. \o/ (80 parts excitement, 20 parts apprehension. But mostly OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG!!)

5. Perth fan meet up looks set to actually happen!! Wheeee. If anyone had told me 4 years ago that I would be metting a group of (essentially) strangers to watch a TV show and be all fangirly I would have said they were mad. It's not something I would have ever imagined for myself and yet, I'm thrilled that it's happening. :)

6. My first non-SPN vid is basically complete - save a few tweaks etc. I am pretty excited about it I have to say.

See. Told ya it was a mixed bag. :D

It sounds strange about doing a vid in something other than your fandom. I jump around like a crazy monkey there is no such thing as "one" fandom. I do a lot of Doctor Who vids but so many other things become "bright and shiny".

Too hard to stay focused on just one fandom...

And this is from the guy whose last four vids were Doctor Who...

Yeah. I kinda harp on about it. *g* In some ways it's a big deal to me because I thought I'd only ever want to vid SPN. Nothing else has ever grabbed me as being brighter or shinier. And even though I love say, Fringe, I don't think I'd vid it.

Though this vid has been another great learning curve. Took a lesson in aspect ratio and interlacing as a result. Turns out movie ratios are different to TV. Which I knew, but yeah. Didn't apply to this vid at first. (luckily I have betas who know about these things).

And yes! I've noticed the Doctor Who focus from you lately. I'm getting that that's your favourite - even though you vid other fandoms. :)

xx

I started out only doing Who but so many other fandoms caught my eye. But when I really want to do something "interesting" I return to the Doctor. I doubt if I could have done as well of a job with the "Law & Order" vid with any other fandom...
