Stuff that's made me smile recently:

1. Fic: debbiei66 wrote The Road, Again. Which just makes everything better after Swan Song. It's perfect and put me in a very happy place after that ep. (which I am STILL friggin' angsty about).

2. Con vid: I'm generally not a huge con vid watcher but when greyowl88 sent me this (she's my dealer - she's fixes me up with all the good stuff!) - I took a peak. The quality is amazing. It's by Nisha1912 and the boys are absolutely delightful. My favourite part is the thing Jared dislikes about Sam:

3. This post by maichan808. Channel Surfing being watching on the set of Supernatural?! *does the vid makers dance with maichan* (apparently it was sent to the boys by one of the set guys.. be awesome if they watched it!). Though also check out the info re her Jarad's Ass vid! Hee!

4. Another vid: Complete change of topic but if you are in any way confused about the European Debt Crisis you HAVE to watch this vid. (and, um... even if you're not). Thanks to greenpear for the heads up. After watching this it ALL made perfect sense. And don't be afraid. It's hilarious. Aussies might know it anyway. It's Clarke & Dawe. Honestly. Watch it!

5. I'm feeling better. But holy crap. Three days off of work. That's unheard of for me. It was a strain of flu apparently with the only symptom being bone deep ache and fatigue. *sheesh* Weird.

Now I have the urge to learn how to make picspams. Like those really pretty ones. With lovely colours and everything. In fact I've checked out some tutorials and stuff and realise that it will require a whole new skills set. *heavy sigh* I want to be able to do it NOW! (I am incredibly impatient). I have an idea and I want to be able to just DO it. But the word "Photoshop" sends me into a spin. Though I have dabbled so maybe I just need to dabble some more. And for those who haven't seen it (though I'm pretty sure you all would have done) you've got to take a look at this post on picspamming. Amazing and a real eye opener on how involved they are. And *koff* - like that.

Well, the people you really want to watch (an appreciate) a vid is the people who ar ein it. Congrats!

And Photoshop is a program you just need to work with and be patient. There is no easy way to get better, just practice. I've been at it for 17 years and I still feel stymied at times...

Thanks! It'd be awesome if they did actually watch it. :) They all know fanvids exist so maybe they do take time to watch some every now and then.

Ah yes indeed. I remember when I first opened FCE and thinking I'd never work it out. But I was driven to work it out. I don't feel so driven with PS, but my hubby said the same thing. Just keep playing with it. I'm lucky I have him here to show me what to do - except he goes too fast when he explains stuff. :/

Thanks for the picspam link. I hadn't known it's such an artform, just never thought about it before. I guess you will have to "buy yourself a bag of patience" to get the picspamming going for you. I would lend you mine but I don't have any either...*g*

The Clarke and Dawe skit is perfect. And it perfectly illustrates that money is indeed and illusion and ain't worth a thing!

That post on picspamming is amazing yeah? I mean, she does incredible picspams. And so do many other people. I would just love to be able to manipulate the images with different colours and light. Not to mention cropping and then arranging them so I can post them. (I figure they've got to be quicker to put together than a vid..Hmmm... Depends how detailed they are I suppose.)

I'm so sorry you haven't been feeling well! I've been buried up to my eyeballs with visitors and work, though I have a long holiday weekend, starting today. Weeee!

And another well-deserved Weeee! for the possibility of the guys seeing Channel Surfing. That would be AMAZING! And you know they'd like it. You know would. I shall keep my fingers crossed.

I realize I owe you an email. I'm sorry to hear you won't be pursuing your one vid project, though I understand your concerns. You'd told me to reset my VGs. But I don't know how to do that. Is there some kind of trick?

Yeah - I'd love to think the guys may have seen it. I mean I'm pretty chuffed that peeps from the set have seen and recommended it (the guy who tweeted that apparently works on set). So yeah. It'd be nice.

Oh and vid. *sigh* I just don't know. I really don't want to shelve it. I'd really like to find a way to make it work - but I feel that I could keep reworking and still get no where. Hmmm. Not sure. I haven't played with it at all - so I might give it a shift around and see what happens. If I do you would be able take another look? Not to worry. Played and played and it sucks... so yeah. Out the window with that one.

To reset the VG - go into "edit profile" - down the bottom are the VG settings. Just change it to "accept all". I think LJ reset everyone settings to "not accept" when they started offering free VGs. Most people haven't realised it until someone has tried to send them a gift. :)

I'm here! I'm here!! As I was telling Debbie and Callisto, I had family in from out of town last weekend, then this week was nuts at work. It was the end of our fiscal year, so there were all kinds of budgetary things to fuss over. I wound up working late more than once. And I've been paying more attention to my BB. I have till July 16th, but still have so much work to do. June has been a wacky month for me. I had out of town visitors for two long weekends, school year stuff to wrap up and crazy work responsibilities. I need to get more serious about writing in June.

So the vid project is for certain a no-go, hmm? Well that's a shame. I hate to see any project of yours set to the side. Please know you can always count on me for commentary or beta. I love working with folks in that way. The only time I can see saying no might be when I'm on deadline myself--and even then, I've often said yes. I don't want to let anyone down! :-)

Thanks for the heads-up on the VGs. I had no idea those settings had been tweaked. I'm sure you're right about LJ trying to save...whatever (it can't be money--those VGs are free to them!) by changing people's settings. What a silly thing. I don't understand why they don't offer free ones all the time, at least to paying subscribers. It would be a nice perk.

Oh man! I know how RL can get. I'm heading into a time myself, with reports due at school. I would MUCH rather be focusing on fandom stuff!

And yeah - vid is done and dusted. I gave it another shot, but it ended up even more confusing I think. Plus I just have too many other projects I want to work on. But thanks so much for your time. I really appreciate it.

And with the VG I think they have started offering free ones each month. To paid subscribers anyway. They allow 5 to be sent - but not all at once. I think after the snowflake fall out from last year, they have to be careful.

Anyway - I'll go and check. I'm loving the sparkly sunglasses they offer at the moment! :D
