Thanks to missyjack for the suggestion she left at an Inspiration Post at spn_sceneit. When I saw that it grabbed me and I just had to give it a go.

Notes

There's really nothing too deep and meaningful here. Though I will say that my initial reaction to reading this prompt was to just showcase the motels appearing in the show. But that really wasn't so easy. The vid needed some kind of meaning and action. As I started to vid it took on a little story and I found that I couldn't just fill the vid with shots of motel interiors. I have tried to show as much of the interiors as I could, but it became more about the activities inside the motels rather than just the interior designs (which are amazing btw).

I became interested in showing the motel room as home, a place where they can be somewhat domestic and as place they exist in together. The wincesty overtones are deliberate, though there's nothing more in there than appears in the show. So, good old brotherly love really. ;) The Impala and (believe it or not) motel doors get a montage of their own also. Along with a few other things...

At the end of the day though it's just a bit of fun.

No money made but comments are gratefully accepted.

That is FABULOUS! I love how the whole things flows, and the matching of clips to lyrics. The "bang-bang on the door" sequence was my favorite, but really all of it was perfect.

The way you match the clips with the music ist just unbelievable. It really shows that themed montage is your fav playground. Wonderful! *nods* It's such a joy to watch.

1:48 the disco room...hahaha. That has always been so funny and you fit it so PERFECTLY.

Oh YAY! I had some trouble with that lyric. I originally had something else until Dei suggested some other clips. I wanted to show the occupants as completely miserable so our boys could be shot of them and hurry up to get to the room to be by themselves (which totally goes against the suggested lyric I know). No idea how happy I am to hear you say that works. :)

And themed montage is probably the style I am most comfortable with. It helps me put things in a neat little box. (Anal much!)

Hee! It surprises me I haven't come across a vid that looked at all the places they stay yet. What a great idea for a vid!

What's interesting to me, actually, is how rarely there is any domesticity in the motel scenes. I mean, we waited S3 for any kind of toiletry routine and until the end of S4 for a laundromat scene. And there is also rarely any changing going on. If anything it's gotten worse in the "sleeping the covers fully clothed" bit. One of many things I miss about the WB is single layers and topless Winchesters.

Exactly what I thought. I'm a bit of a sucker for themed montages (I find them the easiest to vid), so the idea of looking at the motels really grabbed me.

Trying to find moments of domesticity was difficult. They don't exactly wash dishes and vacuum. Though I liked the idea that for them it's research and preparing guns. It's bringing in food and working on laptops. Their domestic lives are very different to ours.

One of many things I miss about the WB is single layers and topless Winchesters.

Amen! So rarely we get a repeat of that wonderful moment (one of my favs) of Sam sitting on the bed in his purple whippet T-shirt looking at his laptop. *happy sigh*
